How to clean windows streak-free

Finally, the long-awaited warmth came, and with it the urgent need to clean the windows. Which literally absorbed all the city dirt and dust over a too long autumn season.

Surely every hostess was faced with the fact that after several hours of work and expended efforts, terrible stains appeared on the seemingly already shiny and cleanly washed glass surface.

Even in spite of the fact that the counters of household stores are simply packed with various detergents that promise complete cleanliness and impeccability. But our mothers and grandmothers did a great job without any newfangled cleaning agents – the most common ones were used: from vinegar to lemon. And believe me, these methods work!

In addition, folk remedies for general cleaning of windows do not contain any chemicals and are absolutely safe for health. And they will undoubtedly be cheaper.

Vinegar

You will need ¼ cup vinegar, a tablespoon of starch, and a couple of glasses of water. Pour all the ingredients one by one into a spray bottle (for example, you have an empty container of detergent for windows), pour the last one with water. Shake up and start cleaning. It is enough to spray the product and wipe it with a cotton cloth. Starch leaves no chance of streaking, because it has excellent properties. The glass itself is a rough surface with microscopic cracks that are not visible to the human eye, and the starch, spreading, fills all the irregularities.

Lemon

If you don’t have vinegar on hand, a citrus product can replace it. And if there is not even a lemon in the house, do not despair, citric acid will also be used. We do the same – we also fill the spray bottle with starch (in the same proportion as in the previous recipe), add lemon juice or acid and fill it with water. A pleasant and, most importantly, natural aroma after cleaning the apartment is guaranteed.

Ammonia

If you are frightened by the pungent smell of ammonia, you can replace it with a regular medical one. Dissolve a tablespoon of alcohol and vinegar in two glasses of water and pour into a spray bottle. Alcohol will dissolve even old dirt and defeat all stains.

Soda and salt

Our grandmothers dealt with the most dirty glasses with soda and salt. 5 tablespoons, half a glass of vinegar and two liters of water, 2 tablespoons of salt we dilute in 2 liters of water. We put on gloves, arm ourselves with a sponge and begin to put the windows in order. Soda has excellent cleansing properties, and salt will give shine to already clean glasses.

Tea

Strongly brewed tea infusion will also help you in general cleaning. By the way, it will come in handy not only when washing windows, but also when cleaning tiles in the bathroom and in the kitchen. You can well clean the dirt from the windows with tea infusion. You will need a glass of strong tea and 2 tablespoons of vinegar. Put a spray bottle and a cotton napkin in your hands – and run to defeat the dirt!
