Usually, only going out into the street and opening the umbrella do you remember that it would be high time to clean it …
So, in order to return this important accessory to its original purity, we will use simple and effective ways:
- The easiest way is to wash. Soak it in warm water with the addition of powder, then rub it lightly with a sponge, especially at the folds. Uncover and rinse in the shower.
- If washing does not help, use a solution of ammonia (half a glass of ammonia per 1 liter of water). A solution of vinegar and water (50 to 50) is suitable for the same purpose.
- The fastest way: wipe the dirty areas with a sponge dipped in alcohol.
- The black umbrella is cleaned with a brush dipped in a strong tea broth.
- To freshen up the colors of a colored umbrella, wipe the surface with a foam rubber sponge dipped in a vinegar solution (2 tablespoons per 1 liter of water).
- Never use gasoline, kerosene, acetone or other solvents for cleaning.
- Rusty stains from umbrella fabric can be removed by squeezing lemon juice or applying a little citric acid to the stain. After 20-30 minutes, the soiled areas should be brushed, rinsed and held over steam. After that, the umbrella must be dried.
- It is better to dry the umbrella half-open. Drying it fully open will further stretch the fabric and create unnecessary stress on the needles – thereby reducing the lifespan of the umbrella.
