How to clean shoes, dishes, furniture

How to clean your home with weird remedies like fanta, mayonnaise, scotch tape, and a vegetable net …

1. Add shine to leather shoes using vegetable oil

First, wipe the shoes with a damp sponge to remove dirt and dust. Then put a couple of drops of oil on a soft cloth and rub the top of the shoe with it. Result: shiny shoes without the smell of shoe polish.

2. We use a net from vegetables for washing dishes

Do not rush to throw out the net left over from onions, beets or potatoes. Cut off the knots and metal clips, rinse with water, and hand it along with the dishwashing liquid to your husband. Such a stiff synthetic mesh will handle burnt-on food debris in a saucepan or pan much better than a soft foam sponge.

As soon as the mesh sponge becomes unusable, it will not be a pity to throw it away.

3. The sticky roller will deal with dust on the lampshade

The sticky tape roller, which is used to remove animal hair from furniture, will do a great job of removing dust on your favorite fabric lampshade. Run the roller up and down the outside of the lampshade several times and it will be clean again. By the way, ordinary wide tape will cope with the same task.

4. Remove stubborn dirt with lemon

Lemon can help remove stubborn stains on wood or plastic cutting boards (such as from beets, carrots, or meat). Rub the board with half a lemon and let sit for 20 minutes. Then rinse off with water. Unpleasant odors will evaporate together with the dirt.

By the way, if you cooked fish, squeeze a little lemon juice onto your hands, then rinse them with water – there will be no trace of the fishy smell.

5. Baking soda will clean the silver spoons

Take a large bowl, line it with a sheet of foil, and place the blackened silver spoons on the bottom. Pour ¼ glass of soda, 2-3 teaspoons of salt there and pour all this with a liter of boiling water.

As a result of a chemical reaction, the spoons will be clean again within a minute. For more shine, you can walk over them with a sponge and baking soda.

6. Collect the broken egg with salt

If you accidentally drop an egg, you can, of course, pick it up with a doormat or use a bunch of paper towels on it. But an easier solution is to cover the egg with salt and leave it for a couple of minutes. The salt will collect the liquid egg – and all that is left for you is to wipe the place that is no longer wet.

7. Remove old decals with mayonnaise

Stickers on mirrors, fridge or sideboards can be removed in the most sustainable way. Spread some mayonnaise on the decal, let it sit for a while, and then remove it with a plastic knife, ruler, flexible spatula (commercially available), or a wooden ice cream stick.

8. Vegetable oil will help remove price tags from glass

Dip a sponge in the oil and rub the price tag hard. When the label comes off, wash the glassware to remove grease under running warm water with the addition of detergent.

9. Newspaper will absorb odor from plastic container

Often, even in spite of washing, an unpleasant sour smell remains in the container. To get rid of it, crumple up the newspaper and place it in a container with the lid tightly closed. In the morning, there will be no trace of the smell.

10. Sprite and Fanta will relieve the kettle from scale

The recipe is terribly simple: pour soda into the kettle, boil it, let it stand for 10-15 minutes, and then drain the water and just rinse the kettle. Thanks to the citric acid contained in these drinks, the heating disc will be free of salts.
