After long-term use, scale and carbon deposits form on the surface of the enamelware. Cooking in such a saucepan can be hazardous to your health. How to clean a burnt pot? There are several effective ways to do this.
How to clean an enamel pan from carbon deposits
If it happens that carbon deposits have formed on your pan, do not leave it washing for later. The fresher the stain, the easier it will be to remove. To do this, you can use one of the following methods:
- vinegar. Pour a small amount of vinegar and water over the burnt area. Heat over low heat. After a few minutes, carbon deposits will begin to fall off the pan. You just have to remove it with a dishwashing sponge;
- salt. Pour water into a burnt saucepan and dissolve 4 tablespoons of coarse salt in it. Place on the stove and heat. Stir the solution periodically. After 3 minutes, you can drain the liquid and rinse the pan in clean water;
- coal. Purchase a pack of activated charcoal from your pharmacy. Crush 10 tablets and add them to the dish to be cleaned. Leave in this state for 25 minutes. After that, pour in a little warm water and soak for another 25 minutes. Then you can wash the pan in the usual way;
- soda. Dissolve 3 tablespoons of baking soda in a glass of water. Pour the mixture into a saucepan. Soak in this state for about 40 minutes, and then boil. Let the liquid cool. After that, you can wash the dishes in the usual way.
If carbon deposits have formed on the outside, then you can also clean it with soda. To do this, you need to select a container that will fit a dirty saucepan. Pour water into it and add baking soda. For 5 liters of water, you will need a pack of baking soda. Dip a burnt saucepan in this solution and put on fire. It takes about 1,5 hours to boil the pan.
Often, scale forms on enameled dishes, which covers not only the bottom, but all the walls of the pan. You can get rid of it using one of the following methods:
- lemon acid. Pour water into the dish to the brim. Add half of one sachet of citric acid. Heat for 15 minutes. After that, the remaining plaque can be removed with a simple dish soap;
- green apples. Exceptionally sour varieties are suitable for these purposes. Fill a saucepan with sliced apples to the top. Let it brew. After such a procedure, no trace of scale remains.
It is not difficult to wash the enamel pot. Choose the method that’s right for you and your dishes will always look perfect.
