How to choose the best air fryer for your home

Buying household appliances is another quest! After all, the main task is not to get lost in this variety and to choose a really high-quality product.

If you are still a fan of French fries, then you must have thought about which model of electric deep fryer you can buy at home. Of course, not only potatoes are cooked in them, but for some reason this product is more popular. We will tell you what to look for when choosing a home deep fat fryer.

The main, but not the only criterion that should be paid attention to when choosing this technique for the kitchen is the volume of potatoes (donuts or pies, emphasize the necessary) that can be cooked at a time. Oil consumption, power (the more, the faster the product will cook), the presence of a filter (stationary or removable), additional functions (non-heating housing, lid lock, oil change indicator, etc.) are also very important when choosing a particular model of home deep fryers. It should be noted that the most popular are two main types of deep fryers: compact and up to 2 liters.

It depends on the volume of the bowl how much product you can cook at one time. In compact models, 0,25 kg is usually laid at a time, in large ones – 1,6 or 2 kg. For example, for a company of 3-4 people, a bowl with a volume of 1-1,2 kg will be enough.

But the power will depend on how quickly this or that dish is cooked and how evenly it is fried. It is worth noting that the larger the volume of the bowl, the more power is needed for the oil to heat up quickly. On average, this indicator ranges from 800 to 2000 watts, however, experts advise choosing models with a power of 1400-1800 watts for home use.

Oil bowl and heating element

The oil bowl is made of aluminum or stainless steel. The first material is, of course, more accessible, but the second is considered more reliable. It is on this element that the operation of the deep fat fryer will depend. If you are going to actively use this technique, then choose models with a non-stick coating, as they are much more convenient to use.

The heating element can be located under the cover (in the form of a plate) or be a spiral. Experts advise taking a closer look at models with a closed heating element, because it is much more convenient to clean them.

Filters and additional functions

Smoke and odor filters are usually supplied as a set and are single or multi-layer, removable or non-removable. Experts recommend paying attention to the removable multi-layer filter, as it retains odor well and is easy to clean.

Also check to see if your fryer has additional items that will make it easier to use this appliance. For example, check if the model you like has removable parts, an oil drain system, a “cold” bottom, case insulation, a timer and other important functions.
