How to choose red wine for the rest of the summer

A glass of aromatic rich red wine will make your outdoor recreation, a party with friends, and a family dinner better. A good wine goes well with anything – cheese, meat and fruit. And in itself it is beautiful

But how do you choose a summer red wine option? After all, not all red wine reveals its qualities in hot weather. Astringent, deep and aged wines are unlikely to be appropriate on a summer day.

Now it is worth paying attention to young wines from Italy and France. They loudly declare themselves with a rich, bright fruity taste. The star among them is affordable and young wine Barbera d’Astiwith a particularly good harvest last year. It goes well with any food and has a very rich flavor and aroma.

Not inferior to him Montepulciano d’Abrucco, also surprisingly gastronomic and bright. But experts advise using this wine with saltier foods, as it has herbal notes. It should not be confused with another famous Italian wine – Nobile dm Montepulciano, which is produced in Tuscany.

Pinot Noir thin-skinned grapes are another great option for summer. And it doesn’t have to be expensive – young wines from Chile and New Zealand pair wonderfully with warm August evenings. Despite the fact that New World wines are cheaper, they have the softness and depth of taste of the standard Pinot Noir.

Also worth a try this summer is the Austrian Zweigelt, preferably last year’s harvest. Juicy, with hints of cherry, the drink will give you real pleasure and will not hurt your wallet. Zweigelt grapes are widespread throughout Austria and wine is made from it in almost any price segment.

If you want, you can store these wines in the refrigerator and serve them with baked duck and soft cheeses. But even warm and without food, they will give you pleasure and good memories of the summer.
