How to choose an activator washing machine with a spin function

When it comes to activator spinning washing machines, many of us immediately remember the Soviet machines, which became widespread more than 30 years ago.

But in fact, a modern activator-type washing machine is not just a relic of the past used by summer residents. Today, the market offers quite advanced devices that have competed with automatic drum machines.

Consider how such a washer is arranged and choose the most functional models.

How does an activator washing machine with a spin function work?

In Soviet models, linen was set in motion by an asymmetric bladed activator, and today it has been replaced by an impeller. This device resembles a bell with symmetrical ribs, rotating from side to side. It provides a smooth rotation of the laundry, due to which it does not wear out as much as in the washing machines of previous generations.

The impeller in its design involves holes through which oxygen passes, enriching the water for washing. This “bubble” technology maintains the quality of the wash at its best, and also pushes the powder out of the fibers of the clothes perfectly.

As for models with heating and spinning, today there are also such SM options. When spinning, the laundry is in the same drum (unlike conventional activator machines with a separate centrifuge into which you need to move the laundry for spinning). As the drum rotates, water is pushed out of the laundry and drained through the holes.

Whirlpool Vantage

This model of the Slovak assembly can be attributed to the elite class. And for good reason – it provides 33 washing modes at once. “Whirlpool” copes with pollution on rugs, shoes and other specific things.

The capacity of the drum cannot leave indifferent any buyer: the manufacturers have provided for a maximum load of 11,5 kg. Of the additional “chips”, we note the touch control, which is provided by a large, almost 20-cm digital display.

The cost of this SM fluctuates around 110 rubles, so this model may seem expensive to an ordinary buyer.

Advantages and disadvantages

All models that we wrote about above are modern, therefore fully automatic. It would seem that such machines can not have flaws. But let’s be objective and consider all the pros and cons.

Advantages of activator machines with spin function:

  • Vertical loading. Users note that this type of laundry loading is much more convenient: you don’t need to bend over to load or take out laundry, and you can also “slow down” the wash if necessary.
  • There are no shutters. The activator machine differs from the usual vertical SMA in that its drum does not have flaps. It is these sashes in automatic machines that cause a lot of trouble to the owners. The drum may open during washing and jam. But the machine with the activator is not difficult to open.
  • Unpretentious to chemistry. Machines with an activator do not require the use of expensive detergents. You can easily fill them with powder for hand washing, as well as wash with any means: shampoo, dishwashing detergent. There is no excess foam in such models, so you can wash anything without harm to equipment.
  • Connection choice. Can be connected directly to hot water to save heating resources and reduce washing time.
  • There are no extra details. In the design of such a CM, you will not find a heating element and a drive belt, which means that there are fewer reasons for a breakdown, and repairs are easier.
  • Low noise.
  • Price. Such a washing machine costs about the same as a vertical CMA from a common brand.

Experts believe that the disadvantages of washing machines with an activator are subjective and often unjustified. Draw your own conclusions:

  • By saving electricity costs, you have to pay more for water.
  • A small model range, and hence a modest selection of automatic models. There are more semi-automatic machines, but they are usually bought at the dacha.

As you can see, progress has taken a confident step forward, so even such equipment as a washing machine with an activator and a spin cycle has become modern, ergonomic, functional and stylish. If you want to enlist the support of a reliable assistant, you can safely choose the right model.
