Why is it necessary to carry out preventive maintenance of the washing machine? This allows you to extend the service life, avoid breakdowns and malfunctions of the washer. The process consists of three steps:
- daily prevention;
- periodic chemical and physical cleaning;
- machine inspection.
Next, we will talk about all the stages and take a closer look at how to prevent a washing machine.
Breakdowns in the SMA: how to prevent
Of course, it is impossible to insure CMA against wear of parts or manufacturing defects. There is no guarantee that even the most expensive washing machine will last a long time. Many factors influence the service life and efficiency of work:
- build quality and components;
- water quality;
- Terms of Use;
- state of the power grid;
- force majeure.
If you regularly follow the rules of operation, while not forgetting about prevention, there is a good chance that the washer will last much longer than indicated in the technical data sheet. Of course, you will have to spend a little more time, but it will give a positive effect.
Recommendation! Try to disassemble the machine at least once every 3 years and to see if there are any malfunctions or breakdowns.
Prevention – a way to extend the service life The automatic washing machine guarantees high-quality, efficient washing and uninterrupted operation if preventive actions are carried out not only after washing, but also before starting the program. Often the main problem of scale formation on the heating element is hard water used for washing. This threatens to cause serious damage.
Interesting! According to statistics, most often masters find large volumes of water stone in old washing machines. If you do not take any measures, then your machine will face the same fate – premature failure!
To avoid consequences, it is very important to make the water softer before washing. To do this, add special substances to the powder receiver, which include softeners. Such actions should be carried out daily if you use the machine constantly. But that’s not all you have to do.
- Before you send things to the drum, inspect the pockets, take out the little things that are lying around. If a button or coin gets stuck in the machine, it will break.
- Do not forget to monitor the volume of things, laying them in the drum. If you overload the machine with extra clothes, the washing machine will fail.
- Use the temperature regime of 95 degrees as little as possible – this harms the machine.
- When washing things with metal parts: buckles, clasps, buttons, send them to the wash, after placing them in a special bag.
- While things are being washed, do not leave the washer unattended for a long time in order to take action if necessary. For example, if a leak occurs. You will notice signs of breakdown: knocking, noise, rumble, and so on.
- After the end of the program and the removal of things, carefully wipe the drum with a dry cloth. Don’t forget about the powder receptacle and rubber seal – they also need proper care.
- Always clean the filter. Remove any remaining water from the machine.
Important! Do not unplug the power cord from the socket during washing, as this will damage the control board!
Chemical and mechanical cleaning are two effective methods
The use of water softeners does not mean that the washing machine does not need to be cleaned. According to the advice of the masters, do-it-yourself mechanical maintenance of the washing machine should be carried out at least once every 1 years. As for dry cleaning, this measure is mandatory once every six months. Cleaning with chemicals does not take much time and effort. The whole point is to add a special cleaning agent to the powder receiver. The longest program is set in high temperature mode. The selected product cleans all the insides of the washing machine from any contaminants and microbes. That’s all cleaning. Mechanical cleaning is more difficult because several steps must be taken:
- Remove the top cover and back of the washer.
- Remove and clean the drain pipe of the machine.
- The pump and nozzles should also be removed from the inside and cleaned.
- Remove the garbage filter, inlet and drain hoses from the machine; rinse.
We draw conclusions: prevention will help extend the life of your machine, just try to pay attention to it as often as possible. We wish you to use your washer as often as possible and not face breakdowns for longer!
