How to care for your hair in the fall: details, tips

With the arrival of the first frost, hair is the first to suffer. Woman`s Day will tell you how to care for them in the cold season.

This, of course, set the teeth on edge, but one cannot but say: the hair must be clean. This not only looks ugly and repulsive, but also affects the health of the hair: dirty hair falls out more than clean hair. This is due to the fact that sebum clogs the pores of the head. Also, dirty hair becomes heavier and can break off under its own weight.

How often should I wash my hair? Forget the “less often the better” myth. Like, hair gets used to frequent washing. In some cases, this may be true, but everyone has different activity of the sebaceous glands. In addition, in the fall, when we wear hats and our head is under the headgear, going to the shower with shampoo may become more frequent.

How to wash your hair properly?

We hope everyone knows this: we apply a small amount of shampoo to the palms, lather and apply to the head. This is followed by a short light massage. And wash off the foam with cool water. It is important that the water is not hot. First, warm water will cover the hair scales and make them shinier. And secondly, hot water can provoke the work of the sebaceous glands, which means that the hair will get greasy sooner.

“In the autumn-winter period, the hair dries longer, the temperature difference is greater, and the scalp reacts to this, blood circulation slows down, and, as a result, hair growth slows down. To help your hair feel less stress after washing, take your time wrapping it in a cold towel. Put the towel in the microwave or on the battery for 30 seconds, and then wrap your hair in it, ”comments Svetlana Stepina, creative partner of L’Oréal Professionnel.

How to take care of your scalp?

The heating season begins in autumn, which means that the scalp begins to dry out. Therefore, we choose shampoo especially carefully. It is good if the composition contains oils and no aggressive substances. Pay attention to the “Suitable for daily care” mark.

Hair is a dead matter, so it is worth throwing the bulk of the energy into working with the scalp – it is she who gives the nutrients to the growing hair. And in order for her to have something to “feed” her hair, eat and drink vitamins for nails and hair in a balanced way. On the nails, you will see the effect immediately, but in order to grow a thick head, vitamins should be drunk in a course. This is due to the fact that the body needs to accumulate more trace elements for hair.

Moisturizing and nourishing masks should be done once a week. “During this period, it is better to use hair masks than conditioners and rinse off treatments. The masks are more concentrated, they retain the effect of nourishing and restoring the hair surface longer, ”says Svetlana Stepina.

Masks can be from a store or homemade, for example, from oils. The best oils for hair are burdock, peach, olive and coconut. Beforehand, the oil or a mixture of oils must be heated in a water bath or in a microwave oven, then applied to the scalp and along the entire length of the hair. Then put on a plastic cap and heat your head with a hairdryer – this will create the effect of a bath. For more effect, pull a warm hat over it. Wash off after an hour.

Another treatment worthy of your attention is the head scrub. Many of these are sold in stores. If you don’t want to spend money, then mix coarse salt with oil and gently scrub the scalp. This will get rid of the stratum corneum and styling products that have not washed off.

This is ugly, and it is no longer possible to save them. Therefore, sign up to the salon to cut off what has already died. And lubricate the updated hairstyle with nourishing hair oil after each wash. Not olive, but what they sell in stores. And do not overdo it, otherwise icicles will begin to hang from your head.

How to protect your hair from frost?

For beautiful and healthy hair, scalp care is very important. Therefore, we avoid sudden changes in temperature; as soon as it began to get colder outside, we hide the top of the head under a hat. “A hat must be worn in winter, preferably made of natural wool or fur, and the hat must not be too close to the head or, conversely, be too wide. In the first case, your hair will take the shape of a head-cap, due to which friction will increase, and the hair will become more brittle. And in the second case, your hair will not have sufficient protection from cold and wind, in this regard, blood circulation will be disrupted, which will entail hair loss, ”advises Svetlana Stepina.

And of course, at low temperatures, you cannot go outside with wet or damp hair. Here is the same story as with moisturizer: the water inside the hair, if not completely dry, will freeze in the cold. And this deforms its structure.

To prevent hair from electrifying in winter, Svetlana Stepina recommends using thermal water and (or) classic hairspray or dry shampoo: “These products have antistatic properties, but in no case should you use a household antistatic agent.”
