How to care for a lacquer bag at home
The patent leather bag is a sophisticated and sophisticated accessory. How to care for a lacquer bag so that it will serve for a long time? Let’s turn to useful and simple recipes.
Natural or artificial leather
The naturalness of the skin is the main factor from which you need to build on when choosing products and methods of care. There are several options for determining the authenticity of patent leather that will always come in handy.
- Tactile sensations. Touch the surface of the bag and hold your palm for about 10 seconds. Natural leather will become warm, artificial leather will remain cold. The artificial surface will moisturize your hands, leaving a foggy spot.
- Outside fold thickness. In natural products, it is more, since the leather is thicker than artificial materials.
- The absence or presence of wrinkles or folds when squeezed. No traces should remain on a natural product.
On expensive bags there is always a label attached, a sample of the material from which it is made. It is designed so that the buyer can be sure of the naturalness of the product. Also, this piece is used as a tester when choosing care products.
How to clean a varnish bag
You can use special ready-made lacquer cleaning products sold in specialized stores.
For those who do not want to spend finances on them, there are several affordable and simple recipes that involve the use of natural ingredients:
- For 0,5 liters of water, add 1,5 large tablespoons of baking soda and 1 large spoonful of ammonia. Wait until the soda dissolves, rub the bag with the resulting solution, then grease with petroleum jelly or glycerin.
- If you notice cracks in the varnish, grease the product with petroleum jelly or glycerin, then with beaten egg white. Take a soft piece of velvet or bae cloth and polish the surface.
- Surface stains are removed by cutting an onion or raw potato. Fresh ink marks from the varnished surface can be removed well with lemon juice.
- Milk mixed with chicken protein will help revive the white lacquered bag.
- Lubricate the product periodically with castor oil, petroleum jelly, or glycerin. This will prevent the skin from drying out, giving a beautiful natural shine.
- It is enough to wipe a varnish bag from a substitute with a delicate soapy solution. Then dry with a napkin.
Natural lacquer bags are more demanding to use. They do not tolerate moisture well, so it is undesirable to get into the rain with them.
If all efforts are in vain, contact a dry cleaner. Perhaps special tools and a professional approach will help to restore your bag to its former beauty.
