Caring for cyclamen is easy: place it in the right place, ensure regular watering and the right air temperature

In order for the cyclamen to feel comfortable in the apartment, observe the following general rules:

  1. Place the pot in a sunny part of the apartment, but make sure that the leaves are not exposed to direct sunlight. Leaves may burn.
  2. In summer, the optimum temperature for cyclamen is 20 degrees, in winter – about 15. This plant does not tolerate heat well, it is more suitable for coolness.
  3. Provide regular watering and monitor the humidity of the air, as cyclamen loves moisture, not drought.
  4. The best soil for cyclamen is a mixture of peat, sand, and leafy soil.
  5. If you just bought a plant and are thinking how to care for a cyclamen immediately after buying, then pay attention to the following fact: after buying it can drop flowers and leaves, this is normal, do not be alarmed. This is how the cyclamen goes through a period of adaptation. Do not use fertilizers after purchase for 3 months.
  6. Cut dry leaves. This is usually done in autumn or early spring.
  7. Choose fertilizers from potash, nitrogen or phosphorus complexes. Introduce them during the flowering period.

If you follow all the rules, then the cyclamen will bloom annually and delight you. If the flower is lethargic, does not bloom, falls off or turns yellow, think about why this could happen. You may be insufficiently moisturizing the soil or applying insufficient fertilizer.

Transplanting must be carried out when the roots of the plant no longer fit in the pot or it is necessary to change the soil. As a rule, you need to replant the plant every 2 years. To do this, you just need to purchase a larger pot, and also add new soil. Fertilizers can be applied. Thanks to a timely transplant, the plant will not start to hurt and will bloom every year.

Caring for cyclamen is simple, even a person who does not have much experience in growing flowers on window sills can cope with it. If you follow the simple rules of care and provide the cyclamen with a comfortable environment, then every year you will observe its beautiful flowering.
