Ksenia Selezneva, nutritionist, Ph.D.
As a doctor, I am against all diets. There is only one diet for me – proper nutrition. Any other diet, especially a low-calorie diet, is an additional stress for the body, which already has a hard time in the autumn-winter period. Remember: it is impossible to get in shape in 1 month and keep the result for many years. A person should eat properly all year round and receive all the vitamins and minerals he needs.
A person’s diet should be varied. You can’t completely cut fats, proteins or carbohydrates – this will lead to health problems. Therefore, in the cold season, the diet must include cereals, vegetable oil, fruits, vegetables, animal protein (meat, fish, dairy products)… And don’t forget the liquid! In winter, plain water can be replaced with infusions of ginger or sea buckthorn. Just grind them up and fill them with hot water.
In all my practice, I have not yet come across a single diet that I could recommend to my patient. An individually selected varied diet is the best way to keep yourself in good shape.
However, you cannot constantly keep yourself within the framework: sometimes you can afford a tidbit. The main thing in this matter is not to delay. If you have allowed yourself too much, then arrange the next day to unload (for example, apple or kefir). This will help you compensate for overeating and return to your previous routine. When you want something harmful or are already full, and your eyes ask for more, the following trick may be useful – slowly drink 1–2 glasses of water, then 1 glass of kefir. If your hunger persists, carefully and slowly nibble whole grain crisps.

Extra pounds is fat that will not leave us after short or irregular workouts. For effective weight loss, I recommend 45-minute aerobic sessions, either on cardiovascular equipment or outdoors, like jogging or cross-country skiing in winter.
Many people want to get results without any extra effort and are “led” to a publicity stunt, for example, butterfly muscle stimulators or slimming shorts. To burn subcutaneous fatty tissue, you need to do a certain amount of work that these “simulators” will never do..
Moreover, there is a golden rule “”, which means that the effect of a muscle stimulator is simply useless. The same applies to the advertised “leggings” and “belts”. They are completely useless and can even harm your health. After all, in them you begin to sweat more, and together with sweat you lose mineral salts so necessary for the body. Heatstroke can occur if you wear this “underwear” for too long. Another option is weighting agents, they are much more useful for training, the main thing is to use them correctly.

When I gave birth to a baby, my weight reached 105 kg. Once I realized that my husband simply ceased to be interested in me. I am a straightforward person, so one evening I asked him frankly: “” My husband looked at me and honestly answered: “”. I felt insanely hurt. At some point, overcoming the offense, I once again remembered the words of my husband and looked at myself in the mirror. It was a terrible revelation! In the background I saw a clean house, a well-fed baby, ironed shirts and a neat man, but I had no place in this perfect picture. I was fat, unkempt and in a dirty apron.
Career has become an additional incentive. The recording studio set a condition for me: either I will lose weight, or they will not work with me. All this prompted me to start fighting with myself. I managed to lose more than 40 kg.
Start losing weight in a good mood and positive. If you are depressed, it is better to postpone the weight loss program. The female cycle should also be considered.
No need to try all the diets and lose weight in several ways at once. You should never go hungry., because the use of low-calorie foods gives only a short-term effect, while it slows down the metabolism and takes away energy.
I strongly do not recommend overusing sports, loads should be added gradually, depending on the diet and your physical capabilities. If you approach weight loss wisely, then breakdowns can be avoided.
And remember that losing weight once and for life is a myth. This is painstaking work that requires a change in consciousness and constant work on oneself. Or maybe you shouldn’t dwell on it? For example, I have everything from time to time: sometimes I keep myself in shape, sometimes I allow myself to relax. The main thing here is to find balance, listen to your body and trust it!
