What kind of linen can be boiled

Boiling water dissolves far more chemical compounds than any artificial detergent. Small additions of soap and bleach enhance the effect. You can boil the following things:

· linens. After machine washing, sheets and pillowcases take on a grayish or yellow tint. Boiling returns the original whiteness;

· kitchen towels. From prolonged use, they are impregnated with an unpleasant odor. The reason for this is putrefactive microbes and fungi. The high water temperature kills hostile flora;

· White socks and shirts. Digestion makes them completely white;

· White underwear without synthetic lace;

· Underwear and bedding for medical problems. It is not uncommon for a child to become infected in kindergarten with lice, scabies or worms. Digestion in boiling water eliminates parasites.

Only natural cotton and linen fabrics can be boiled.

How to properly boil laundry

For boiling, you need a special tank or a very large saucepan. It is filled three-quarters with water and placed on the stove. If the tank is large enough, you can light two burners at once under it. When the water is bubbling, put the laundry and gently distribute it with a long wooden spoon or stick. Add a little of any washing powder and bleach. Half the amount used for the washing machine is enough.

The water in the tank is often stirred. The fire should be small. How much the laundry is boiled depends on the degree of soiling. Heavily washed items with stains – 1 hour, for odor removal – half an hour. Use a spoon or stick to gently transfer the laundry to the basin. After slightly cooling it, rinse it in warm water, then in cold water. If the fabric shrinks heavily, do not rinse in cold water.

Knowing how to boil laundry at home, the hostess will always keep things perfectly clean and snow-white. Boiling saves money on powders and bleaches. The hot water from the tank can be drained into the kitchen sink. It cleans the effluent perfectly without acid solvents.
