How to bleach towels at home without boiling
Crystal white towels are a symbol of neatness, perfect hygiene and even luxury. They are associated with a fashionable hotel, a rich mansion. But how do you whiten towels to sparkling cleanliness? There are several ways – uncomplicated, cheap and proven many times over.
How to bleach towels at home
Often, laundry takes on a stale look just because it is not properly washed. Washing rules for white towels:
- Always use a powder with bleach. Rinse washed blue towels from time to time.
- Do not put too many items in the washing machine. The tissue must circulate to cleanse. There is not enough room in an overfilled machine for the detergent to come into contact with the laundry.
- Use water at the highest temperature suitable for the fabric. The hotter the water, the more bacteria and mildew that can give the towels a gray tint will be destroyed.
- Put in exactly the amount of detergent indicated on the package. More or less will cause dirt to build up in the washing machine. This dirt will return to the laundry.
Using these methods, it is possible to restore freshness to the towels without the use of complicated techniques.
How to bleach towels without boiling
Heavily washed items can be made boiling white with inexpensive home remedies. The following methods are effective:
- Borax application. This detergent has been used since the century before last. Adding just 100 g of borax to the washing machine will cleanse your laundry and remove odor. Suitable for both white towels and products with colored patterns.
- Hanging out in the sun. Bright sun rays radically whiten things washed in the usual way.
- The use of acidic substances. For 5 liters of water, you will need 1,5 cups of lemon juice or vinegar. Boil water in a tank, pour in vinegar (lemon juice), put towels in the solution. Stir, turn off the gas and leave the tank for an hour. After that, rinse in clean water.
- Soaking with ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. For 3 liters of intensely hot water, 1 tsp is required. ammonia and 1 tbsp. l. peroxide. The towels are soaked in a hot solution basin for 20 minutes. Then rinse in clean water.
If some dirty spots remain after bleaching, you can moisten them with lemon juice and leave for 15 minutes. Then the stain should be lightly rubbed and washed off with cold water.
To keep your towels white, you need to wash them as often as possible. Do not wait until the white thing turns black from dirt. The optimal interval is once a week.
