How to become a popular model in Yekaterinburg

– I inherited from my parents the traits characteristic of their nationalities: from my mother’s Slavic woman – blonde hair and blue eyes, and from my father – eastern cheekbones and slanting eyes.

Probably, all mothers and their daughters are familiar with the work “The Ugly Duckling”? It was during the period when this duckling turns into a beautiful swan that my mother gave me to a modeling agency. I was only ten years old. I come from a small town, and when courses of the Yekaterinburg model agency appeared in it, my parents, without hesitation, sent me there.

And it all began with various children’s beauty contests, I received my first award ribbon at a city beauty contest in the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, then small shows began in Yekaterinburg. And then I was sent to represent our city at the regional beauty contest! In 2004, I passed the casting for the city beauty contest “Miss Yekaterinburg”, which I was incredibly happy about!

I have worked at the shows of Sonia rykiel, Max Mara, Sergey Teplov … And, of course, I will never miss a single show of my favorite designer Nikita Baranov!

In addition to Yekaterinburg, I worked in Moscow, for example, I was lucky to work at the New Year’s ball at Mikhail Voronin’s in the Kremlin.

Most of all, I remember the shooting for the advertisement of a fur store with the participation of the presenter Alexander Vasiliev, who turned out to be a very nice, sympathetic person, without stellar manners! I remember that he told me that I was special, it was terribly nice!

I am an adherent of classical beauty and am grateful to my parents for my appearance. But today’s modeling business is completely unpredictable, and even a girl with a completely non-standard appearance can become a style icon.

The main danger of the modeling business is to stumble upon selfish scouts and managers of modeling agencies. Often, girls who come to the modeling business do not understand how much this or that show or shooting should be paid. And they agree to the free work that their agency offers them. But any work should be paid, especially since the model’s work is not so simple as it seems at first glance. And of course, you need to avoid various dubious offers like “Escort” and “Escort”, such offers are received by models in a very large number, especially in social networks. I advise you to immediately reject such offers!

– I have been in the modeling business since I was 14. Everything is quite banal: my mother brought me there, and it was she who helped me gain confidence in myself. As a child, I dreamed of a catwalk, shooting with fashion designers, meeting famous people, but I strongly doubted myself and thought that nothing would work out for me. But after going through modeling school, I realized that I can change a lot. I got a lot of job offers on filming and screenings, and as a result, I became more and more interested in this.

The secret of success? I am very punctual and obligatory. I approach work responsibly, always come beforehand, take with me a bunch of things that may be needed on the set. Many photographers and makeup artists even told me: “You are not a real model, because you are never late!” As a joke, of course. Also, my distinguishing feature is the ability to easily transform into different images required for shooting or showing. I played the role of a caring mother, student, “socialite”, witch, etc.

I was not able to work on filming abroad, but I deliberately made this choice in favor of study and personal life. But she worked a lot in Yekaterinburg and Moscow. Shooting was different: from classical – in studios, to filming in abandoned buildings. Most of all I like shooting in commercials, it’s like a mini-movie with its own plot, director and actors.

The most memorable event in my life was my participation in the Miss Yekaterinburg-2014 contest. I did not receive the crown, but I met a huge number of interesting and creative people, communication with whom gave me many opportunities in my work.

At the moment, there are many models operating in the world and the competition is as high as ever. But models are now valued not only for appearance, but also for the ability to present oneself, to build respectful and friendly relations with the team in which she is to work. Perhaps this is what I can offer the Moscow and international markets.

In my opinion, the modeling business is cruel and sometimes unfair. Sometimes it is quite difficult to understand which models will be in demand and which will not. Someone does not take models seriously at all and does not treat them with respect. But the more difficulties, the more interesting it is to overcome them and work.

– I have been in the modeling business since 2012, agents of Fashion One Model Management found me on a social network. There was no special event, I just decided to try myself in it.

Everyone has their own appearance, and it is unique, if we talk about types, then yes, there are similar ones. In terms of character traits, the model should be stress-resistant, purposeful, sociable.

I have worked a lot abroad. In Seoul (South Korea) she participated in her first fashion week. There were many screenings while working in Beijing (China). And now I am in Milan and get acquainted with the principles of work in Europe.

The most memorable show so far has been the jewelry show in Beijing. We prepared for this show for three days, for each model we created a unique image (dresses, hairstyles, jewelry). I had three exits with stunning handcrafted gemstone jewelry! There are disadvantages in our work. It is very difficult to combine study and modeling, and we also have constant stress and a state of expectation.

– I have been in the modeling business not so long ago, a little over a year. Friends and relatives often told me to try myself in the modeling business. But something always stopped me – I spent most of my time studying. At one point, I realized that I was missing something in my life. I wanted to fulfill myself. So I decided to go to the Fashion One Model Management modeling agency, chose it for a long time, looked at the photos of the models, the activities they are engaged in. When I decided to take up this business, I understood perfectly well that it would be difficult for me, since I do not fit the model standards. But this only strengthened the desire to prove, first of all, to myself that, despite the difficulties, you can achieve what you want.

I think it helps me that I give my best on set, regardless of the importance of the work. On the set, I forget about all the problems and just enjoy the process, communicate with the team. And most importantly, I get tremendous pleasure from it. People feel it and want to work with you. After all, what you do must impress you yourself, otherwise nothing will work out. And of course, you need to take care of your appearance.

Each shooting, show is emotions that remain in the memory for a long time. But, as a rule, you always remember your first experience. So I remember shooting for a magazine in Venice. I was woken up at 4 am as the shooting was scheduled for dawn. When we went to the main square of Venice and started shooting, I was standing in a beautiful blue evening dress, camera flashes, the faces of passers-by, spreading into smiles, beautiful landscapes – at that moment I felt that I could not dream of anything more.

I know what a huge competition in the modeling business, especially in the international market. Well, who said it would be easy? I think the most important thing is desire and striving for the set goal no matter what. You have to work hard to get things done. Appearance alone is not enough, you need to be a person. I am a maximalist in life and will continue to give all my best, work on myself. I am open to communication and ready for new achievements.

– The first time I thought about working as a model at the age of 14. At that time, the scouts of the Yekaterinburg modeling agency were looking for new faces, auditions were held at the school where I studied. But dad was worried about my future, was against the modeling business, and for a while I forgot about my dream. Life went on as usual: studies, art school, budgetary place at USUE.

Everything changed at the moment when I plucked up the courage and decided to pass the casting for the Miss Yekaterinburg beauty contest. This is what became the starting point in the world of fashion. Wonderful teachers and mentors of the project taught me everything necessary for a modern girl – to be strong, hardworking, but at the same time smiling and light. Immediately after the beauty contest, I signed a contract with an international modeling agency and flew abroad two weeks later. Over time, I managed to convince my parents too, now they are proud of their daughter and are sure that I am doing everything right.

For 4 years I managed to work both in my native Yekaterinburg and abroad. She worked as a model at the shows of Escada, Etro, Laurel, Louis Vuitton, MaxMara, etc. She took part in all kinds of events, exhibitions, Formula 1 races, even visited the 2014 Olympics in Sochi and saw the victory of Russia with my own eyes. In 2013, a modeling agency offered to represent the city of Yekaterinburg at the Miss Snow Universe long-distance beauty contest. I am sure that soon the list will be replenished with new interesting works.

External data, parameters, of course, are very important. But it should all be flavored with a good dose of charisma. A good joke, friendliness and high spirits of the model always help the film crew to achieve a good result. Sociability, in my opinion, is a very important component of any profession, and the modeling business is no exception!

I love my job, and the memories of filming or screenings make me smile. But there were also super-memorable moments. For example, in the city of Novosibirsk I once posed at a temperature of -30 degrees … in a swimsuit! So that year it was no longer necessary to plunge into the hole for Epiphany.

And once in Asia, a designer saw me as a blonde, and the team decided to erect a lush blonde hair on my head. The wig was cut right on me, and I was very worried that at the same time my own hair would be “trimmed”. Although I can completely change my style for the sake of work, I am even ready for a short haircut. As a moral compensation, they brought me soy ice cream, and in addition I received bright emotional shots.

Around the same time, I was offered an unusual filming – in an Asian food market. I will never forget how, having heard the squeak, I accidentally raised my head and realized that the roof of the shop was teeming with tailed mammals … For Asians, this is “okayla”, but for a Russian, it is the beginning of panic. Still goosebumps! But I was able to continue posing for the camera.

The disadvantages of the modeling business are insignificant for me, I see more advantages. One of the advantages of the modeling business is the opportunity to meet new, incredibly interesting people. It is in the process of work that you “acquire” like-minded people and friends with whom it is pleasant to communicate, to spend free time from work. And of course, the pluses are constant travel, flights, new countries! For three months you live in another country, in another city, your view of the world changes. After all, you are no longer a “five-day” tourist, but almost a local resident who knows secret streets and non-trivial sights.

– When I was 14 years old, a friend called me for a company to a modeling school. On the first day I was told that with my growth I came to the right place, and I have every chance of becoming a popular model. I successfully passed the casting and two days later I participated in the fashion show of Sisley, Benetton, Max Mara. In the classroom at the model school, I always wanted to take the maximum: I went to classes with pleasure, although at that time I lived in another city. I took part in the New look-2004, World Top Models-2010 competition in Cyprus (I was among the five finalists). She took part in shows in Yekaterinburg (she worked for all designers), starred for magazines. She worked in Moscow for 2 months (went on a modeling contract) – she appeared at shows in the Kremlin, in various boutiques, there were several shootings for Moscow magazines.

The most memorable was the shoot for the popular coffee. The casting took place when I lived in Moscow. I had 4-5 castings a day, all in different parts of the city! Once I had already gone through three castings, and I was not even going to go to the next one – I was sure that the girl would be found without me. But a friend persuaded. As a result, I passed the casting and got to the next stage, where they set a condition for me: the obligatory dyeing of my hair in black. I offered a thousand options: wigs, toning! They stood their ground, and I … refused to shoot! Six months later, they called me again and invited me to shoot. This time I have already agreed to staining.

The shooting took place all day from 7 am to 12 am! The photographer was from Prague, a very large team of stylists, makeup artists, assistants and people who are looking at intermediate shooting options! I was filming with a bald boy, they put a wig on him. Then posters advertising this coffee hung throughout the year in all cities of Russia.

It seems to everyone that being a model is simple: I went to the podium, walked – and that’s it! But before that, the model works a lot on itself. I think that perseverance and hard work helped me achieve everything. As for the figure, I am very lucky genetically! Mom is thin, dad is an athlete, so I don’t go on exhausting diets, but I always go in for sports: yoga, gym, sometimes swimming.

– When I was little, many predicted a great modeling future for me and were often compared to Natalia Vodianova. I studied at the school of arts. Diaghilev and periodically participated in shows of young talents – these were the first steps on the catwalk. After some time, I sent my questionnaire to the Miss Yekaterinburg contest, became a participant, and reached the final. At the final show, I entered the seven beauties and won the honorary title of one mobile company. Then she received an offer to cooperate with this company and work as a model in a modeling agency. Participation in this competition turned my whole life upside down, made me believe in myself and achieve everything that I now have!

I was lucky with external data – this is a fact. I have good height combined with correct facial features. Slavic type of appearance, very beloved by modern fashion creators, and in addition to that, the popular baby-face. During the preparation for the Miss Yekaterinburg contest, I was taught a confident, graceful gait, a wide stride – which is important for a catwalk model! The delivered posture goes well with natural aristocracy.

I took part in Miss Yekaterinburg for the second time a few years later – then I won the honorable third place. Then she met a Moscow model scout and received offers to try her hand at Moscow. In parallel with this, she sent her application to the All-Russian beauty contest “Miss Russia”. The question of my participation was discussed for a very long time, and the decision of the jury was a secret until the very last moment. But still, I was included in the list of participants in the competition, I presented the Sverdlovsk region at the competition with dignity. Participation in such contests gives great opportunities and opens up good prospects for female models!

During my modeling career, I have participated in more than one dozen shows. Of course, not without filming in magazines and participating in fashion projects! I didn’t have to work abroad, although there were offers.

My positive character traits are dedication, calmness and patience! I am not capricious on the set and I try to clearly fulfill the assigned tasks! I know how to correspond to a given image, I easily transform from one image to another.

There are certainly disadvantages and disadvantages in the modeling business! Someone is fond of losing weight and brings themselves and their body to a terrible state and disease.

But for me, perhaps, everything is going quite calmly and without any problems and incidents.
