Every group needs a leader. And it doesn’t matter if a group of scouts needs to remove sentries from a guarded facility, or a project team is developing a video surveillance scheme for Gazprom, or a family needs to pack things for the dacha. Any group needs a leader, and what matters is how you behave in a similar situation.
If you are confused and wait for others to make decisions, you are not a leader. If you act energetically, following the orders of the one who orientated faster than you, you are an excellent performer, but you are not the leader here. If you share your thoughts on how you can do everything faster and better — you are a smart person, but you are not a leader or even a leader. If you command and give orders, you are already a leader. Who then is the leader? The one who says: «Command, you will be the leader!»
The leader is the one who determines the main direction and starts all the main processes. The leader is the one everyone follows.
Among two people striving to manage, other things being equal, the leader will be the one who acts faster. So your first point is speed. Brake leader does not happen. You cannot have sleepy eyes, you always have a cheerful voice, lively speech and energetic gestures.
But — the leader is never in a hurry. He doesn’t fuss.
The leader knows how to behave with status and behaves with status. He is not afraid to step forward, he knows how to be the center of attention and talks like one in power. How is it? I’ll give you a few tips on leadership – how to behave, what a leader can and can’t do, what leadership behavior looks like outwardly.
The leader can be easily recognized by characteristic gestures. A non-leader either does not use gestures at all, or works with his palms facing him, opening his palms up. The leader makes accents in the speech with a leader asterisk: this is a hand palm down with open fingers. His palm points and directs: forward, up and so be it! And so it won’t.
