How to apply boric acid to the ear or ears
Earaches occur in any person. This may be due to otitis media or a mild ear cold. It is especially bad when a child has pain. So I wonder if boric acid can be instilled into the ears to reduce inflammation? Boric acid has good antiseptic properties. At the first symptoms of otitis media, you need to see a doctor. In the case of an uncomplicated disease, the doctor prescribes boric alcohol. The specialist also prescribes hydrogen peroxide for washing.
How to put boric acid in the ear?
Anyone can drip boric acid into their ears. However, before starting the process, it is recommended to study the algorithm for its implementation.
- First of all, the ear is rinsed with hydrogen peroxide, which removes solid wax. This will improve the effect of boric acid. 5 drops of peroxide are instilled into the ear using a pipette. Then turn the head to the other side and wipe the hole with a cotton swab.
- After that, the patient lies down with the sore ear up. It is desirable that someone else instill boric acid. 3-4 drops are enough. The liquid must be warm, otherwise the inflammatory process may become even more pronounced. After instillation, wait 10-15 minutes and rub the ear until all moisture is removed.
Then the ear canal is closed with a piece of cotton wool. The ear should be kept warm at all times. You can repeat the procedure no more than 4 times a day. At night, a piece of gauze, folded several times, is moistened with boric acid and placed in the ear opening. After otitis media, it is not recommended to use cotton swabs, which lead to the appearance of ear plugs. Better to continue removing sulfur with peroxide.
