When inserting elements such as pictures, tables or formulas into Word documents, you can easily add automatically numbered headings to them. They may contain appropriate labels, such as Formula, Figure or Table. In addition, you can create your own signatures.
In one of the articles, we showed how to add a title to a picture in Word. Today we will show you how to create your own signatures and remove them if they are no longer needed.
To add your own caption for pictures or tables, open the dialog box Caption (Name). To do this, go to the tab References (Links) and click Insert Caption (Insert title) in the section Captions (Names). In the dialog box that opens, click on New-Label (Create).
A dialog box of the same name will open. Enter the desired signature name in the field Label (Name) and press OK.
The new custom label will be added to the dropdown list Label (Signature) is selected and inserted into the input field Caption (Name). From drop down list Position (Position) select the position of the title: above or below the picture. Click OK.
Note: You can add a name without a caption by checking the box Exclude label from caption (Remove caption from title).
Now the title with custom caption is inserted above or below the picture.
If the caption you added to the dropdown list Label (Signature), no longer needed, it can be removed. Select the custom signature you want to delete and click on Delete Label (Delete).
The custom signature will be removed immediately and the default signature will be selected. Click Fermer (Close).
Note: If a title is already inserted, removing the caption will not affect it in any way, even if you remove the caption that was used in the title. In addition, you can only remove custom signatures that are not built into Word.
