The holiday is getting closer, which means that festively decorated trees are beginning to appear in homes all over the planet. The tradition of setting up a New Year (or, as they say in the West, a Christmas tree) dates back to the Middle Ages – in Germany, they went to the forest for a holiday and had fun near a decorated spruce. Then they began to take the Christmas trees to their home – after all, it is more convenient to dance in the warmth of the hearth than in the cold.
In Russia, Christmas trees began to be erected during the time of Peter I, and the New Year became a separate holiday only in 1935, before that it was simply part of the Christmastide from December 24 to January 6.
Now we at least know whom to thank for this wonderful tradition – after all, for many, childhood memories of the New Year are inextricably linked with the smell of pine needles. And although psychologists say that it is necessary to decorate the Christmas tree on December 31, many celebrities have already done it. Other colleagues in show business are not lagging behind. Anna Khilkevich in her Instagram, for example, shared her plans for the upcoming holiday and at the same time showed how her house is decorated: there are lights everywhere, spruce wreaths and twigs, and in the living room there is a modest but very cute Christmas tree.
