The harmful effects of alcohol

Alcohol, or rather ethanol, is found in almost every alcoholic beverage and is a neurotoxic poison. The main problems with alcohol consumption are facial flushing, swelling, dehydration, early wrinkling, dull complexion and rapid aging of the skin.

When alcohol enters directly into the gastrointestinal tract, it causes expansion, irritation of the walls of blood vessels, and reflexively, in the face area, and in particular in the cheeks, redness and burning appear. Especially in patients prone to rosacea and rosacea. Alcohol abuse also negatively affects the quality of the skin, it becomes dry and dehydrated. This is due to the fact that the body is struggling to remove toxins, and we get thinned skin, finely wrinkled, with a gray tint.

After drinking alcohol, there are also allergic reactions, which manifest themselves in the form of itching and flaking. This is often the case from drinking alcoholic cocktails. This requires immediate medical attention to prescribe antiallergic therapy and faster removal of alcohol from the body. The doctor will prescribe topical therapy or, if necessary, pills.

How edema forms

Due to the use of alcohol, the permeability of the vascular wall increases and in people prone to edema, bags under the eyes are formed. There is a large amount of subcutaneous fat, which attracts water. From alcohol, not only the face swells, but also the legs and fingers.

How to deal with all this?

  • It is advisable to drink more water in order to quickly remove alcohol from the body.

  • At home, you can do self-massage along the massage lines. Use anti-inflammatory masks. Now there is a very large assortment of cosmeceuticals that work great, quickly removes puffiness and redness.

  • Cold herbal compresses and eye patches work well.

  • You should use masks with an active moisturizing effect.

  • In a clinic, microcurrent therapy will have a good effect, which will improve the movement of lymph and remove swelling and redness. Or a classic massage performed by an aesthetic specialist.

  • An alginate mask with a calming effect will also help, which can be well combined with the hydrafash procedure – peeling, during which the top layer of the skin is removed, stimulation of recovery and provision of the skin with vitamins occurs.

Such procedures are well suited for patients prone to swelling and redness.

  • With dryness and severe dehydration, when the skin takes on the appearance of parchment, biorevitalization will be most beneficial – the basic procedure of aesthetic medicine, which allows you to maximize the condition of the skin, moisturize it well and get the effect of rejuvenation up to 15 years. This effect is achieved through the use of hyaluronic acid, which is currently considered the most effective in the fight against skin aging.
