How red wine drinkers differ from white wine drinkers

Two thousand Americans took part in a survey to compare lovers of red and white wine.

To participate in the study, marketing company OnePoll selected people over the age of 21 who drink an average of 4 glasses of wine per week. And, as it turned out, differences in character, temperament and preferences were significant between wine lovers from the “white” and “red” camp.

Thus, lovers of red consider themselves to be more wine connoisseurs than fans of a white drink. They most often demonstrated knowledge of how to hold a glass, what “tannins” are, how long it takes wine to get oxygenated. And, as a rule, they often spend more on a bottle of their favorite drink.

It was also found that “reds” are prone to anxiety if the partner does not share their wine tastes and knows nothing about the wine. It is important for them to see next to them people who are as similar to them as possible and share their tastes.

As a result of the study, it was found that most often red wine lovers are “nightingales”, introverts and obsessed with dogs. But those who prefer white are most often “owls”, extroverts, and if they have pets, they will most likely choose cats.

The musical tastes of red and white wine lovers also differ. Lovers of red prefer jazz, and lovers of white prefer rock, in particular punk rock.

When it comes to personality, red wine drinkers describe themselves as “enterprising, organized shy” and white wine drinkers “curious, sarcastic perfectionists.”
