A generous feast on the holidays always promises us many temptations in the form of hearty delicious dishes. Most often, after breakdowns, we pay with our health the very next day. How to avoid negative consequences and not overeat during the holidays?
Start with green vegetables
Green vegetables will perfectly saturate your stomach and relieve you of the urge to eat something fatty and high in calories. If you plan on eating spicy food, then salad is a must on your plate – the fiber will take the brunt of the seasoning.
Remember the combinations
Some food combinations, even in small quantities, impair the functioning of the digestive tract. Meat with bread, eggs with potatoes and cheese – for sure you will immediately feel the heaviness in the stomach, heartburn and cramps.
Don’t drink while eating
The liquid drunk during the meal dissolves the gastric juice, which is needed for digestion. But the water with lemon drunk the day before will, on the contrary, improve peristalsis and help to quickly assimilate the consumed dishes.
Use pharmacy enzymes
If your stomach is your weak point and you have a hearty meal ahead of you, take fermented preparations to help break down and digest heavy food.
Don’t eat a lot of foods that take a long time to digest
Most of the symptoms the day after a meal are the result of eating heavy foods. This is, for example, meat that takes 1 to 3 days to digest. The main percentage of the diet should be light and digestible, so as not to feel overwhelmed in the morning after a hard night of digestive tract work.
Don’t eat dairy and gluten foods
This food category can be eaten on normal days in moderation. They make it difficult to digest food, and in combination with the overeating factor, they can cause a lot of problems.
Don’t go overboard with desserts
Dessert, as the end of the evening, can be skipped. You are probably not hungry, and a calorie bomb will only increase the unpleasant sensations in the stomach and add extra centimeters to your figure.
