The holiday period can also verify our nutritional awareness. During these months, related to a healthy lifestyle and sticking to certain rules, we introduced these habits every day. 

The most important thing is to be aware that you are getting fat by consuming too much kcal. If we stick to a few rules, we will be able to come back without any extra pounds.

  • Eat vegetables and fruits

On such holidays, there is usually no shortage of fruit and vegetables. When approaching the smorgasbord, put a large amount of vegetables first, and then reach for other products. This will make the plate richer vegetables than if we did the opposite. For dessert, instead of cakes, choose exotic fruit, which in warm countries taste much better than in Poland. Thanks to this, we can also get to know many new flavors. 

  • Better alternatives

Choose products consciously:

fatty, fried meats → grilled, stewed, boiled or baked seafood, fish or poultry

waffle with whipped cream and chocolate glaze → fruit waffle

ice cream with cream → sorbets

  • Buffet 

that is, the richness of flavors. It is often very varied, but usually some meals may be repeated every day. It is natural that we want to try all the dishes, but it is worth spreading it out over a few days. One day, eat noodles on another rice. Also, avoid second rounds. 

  • Alcohol

On such trips, we often indulge in alcohol. However, it should be remembered that it is high in calories, it is also not full, but it increases the appetite. We often drink salty snacks. If you prefer drinks, choose the ones with zero type drinks. However, the best alternative is a dry wine with ice. 

  • Sweet drinks

We have a wide range of juices and drinks at our disposal, which we often reach for, even if they do not appear at all in our homes on a daily basis. Drinking a few glasses of juices or drinks a day can provide up to 500 additional calories. Within 24 hours it is a lot, and by multiplying it throughout the week, we get a huge surplus. Keep reaching for the water. It can be carbonated, with ice, citrus or mint. 

  • Regularity

Try to eat regularly, every 3 – 4 hours. Then you will not lead to wolf hunger.

  • Physical activity

How to keep a diet on vacation?

It’s not about jogging along the coast every morning or sweat at the hotel gym. Take advantage of the opportunities offered by your surroundings. Go for a walk, play football, frisbee or rackets with your kids, swim. 

These few rules can save you from a heart attack after stepping on the scale after vacation 🙂 and maybe even make you come back in red.
