There is further evidence that vaccines protect against the severe course of COVID-19 and thus death. They were announced by the US government agency CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; an agency of the US federal government and one of the leading organizations fighting epidemics). Dr. Rochelle Walensky, in charge of it, stated exactly what the risk of death was for those who did not receive the vaccine.

“Vaccination works and will protect us from serious complications of COVID-19”

The results of the research, announced by the CDC, were conducted in 13 US states and territories between April 4 and July 17. At that time, fully vaccinated people accounted for approx. 8% of the total number of vaccinated people. with almost 38 thousand hospitalized COVID-19 patients and approx. 8% all cases. Among the death tolls included in the study, 616 out of 6 (approx. 748%) were fully vaccinated.

Looking at the cases in the last two months where the Delta variant was the predominant variant circulating in the country, unvaccinated people were about four and a half times more likely to get COVID-19, more than 10 times more likely to be hospitalized, and 11 times more likely to die from because of the disease, said CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. Vaccination works and will protect us from serious complications of COVID-19, she concluded.

The efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. Another CDC study

The CDC also published two other studies on the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. Both come to similar conclusions. They indicate that the Moderny preparation is the most effective vaccine available in the USA. Its effectiveness was estimated in both cases at over 90%. The effectiveness of the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine was estimated at 80 and 83 percent, and Johnson & Johnson – at 60 percent. Both studies were conducted at a time when the Delta variant remained the dominant coronavirus variant.

The data also show that mRNA vaccines (Moderny and Pfizera / BioNTechu) are more effective in people under 65 (95%) than in the elderly (80%). Their effect did not diminish after 90 days.
