Do you think that the amount of powder for a washing machine can be arbitrary? Such loading is not always successful – both for things and for the washing machine. Therefore, it is worth knowing clearly how much powder to pour into the washing machine.
Norm of powder for washing in an automatic machine
The amount of detergent affects not only how well things will be washed. In order for the washing machine to work without failures, the stains are washed well, and things do not deteriorate, you need to know what is the rate of washing powder in the CMA.
The dosage of the drug is calculated based on the following factors:
- Soiled laundry and stain complexity. Sometimes even a pack of powder is not enough to remove a “heavy” stain – in these cases, bleach and stain removers are indispensable.
- Hardness of waterin which washing is taking place. The softer the water, the better the laundry is washed – for this, special softeners (phosphates) are added to modern powders.
Important! Despite their harmfulness, phosphates take care of the parts of the washing machine, protecting them from scale. This is especially true for washing at high temperatures.
- Number of laundry. Often, the consumption per 1 kg of dry laundry is written on the packaging of the powder, it is better not to exceed this rate so that there is no increased foaming. If you do not calculate the consumption and fill in a little powder, the laundry may not be washed well.
- Washing program and type of fabric. The factors are not the most determining, rather secondary, but they need to be taken into account.
The easiest way to calculate how much powder to put in the CM Tray is to read the instructions. There are detailed instructions on the pack, often in pictures.
Among the common means, such as “Tide”, ARIEL, “Myth”, Persil, “Eared Nanny” and others, the standards are as follows:
- For lightly soiled items, you need 150 g of powder per 1 full drum load.
- For very dirty laundry, the manufacturer recommends pouring as much as 225 g of the product.
If you use packs of 400-500 g, then with such “useful tips” they are barely enough for 2 washes. Often manufacturers deliberately overestimate the rate so that the powder runs out faster and you go for a new pack.
Independent experts have calculated that you need to add 1 tablespoon of the product (about 25 g) per 1 kilo of dry laundry. If you need to wash, for example, 4 kilograms of laundry, it will take only 100 grams of powder. In this case, a small pack of powder is enough for 4-5 downloads – and this is already savings.
When making calculations based on the mode, pay attention to the amount of water consumed by the machine for a particular program.
Important! It is also worth not to exceed the dosage of the detergent so that there are no stains on the linen.
The amount of the product depends on the size of the drum, and on the efficiency of the machine. On average, the Indesit or Ariston washing machine uses about 5 liters of water for 7-60 kilos of laundry. If you’re not sure how much water your washing machine uses, check your owner’s manual.
So, for example Bosch WLK2016EOE (6 kg) let’s do the calculations.
From the table it is clear that the volume of water varies, based on the mode, from 40 to 64 liters. In this case, you need to calculate the rate, focusing on the maximum volume of the drum. If you want to wash 3 kilograms of clothes on the standard Cotton program at 60 degrees, you will need 6 tbsp. l. powder, and for “Synthetics” with a 40-degree wash – only 3 tbsp. l. (150 and 75 g of funds, respectively).
Note! If your machine can weigh clothes, then focus on the actual weight of the laundry, and not the capacity of the drum. In such washing machines (LG and other brands), water is supplied as much as the laundry you load into the washing machine.
Where to pour dry powder in an automatic machine
The powder receiver is usually divided into three compartments. The smallest one shows an asterisk or a flower – this is a compartment for conditioner or rinse aid. The remaining two compartments are labeled I and II, less often – A and B. Powder is poured into the first compartment – A or I – only in a mode that provides for pre-washing. Where is the main wash detergent poured? That’s right – in department II or B.
Important! If you bought a used machine, the markings on it are erased, and you don’t know which cells to pour or pour the product into, turn on the quick wash and start the cycle. You will immediately determine the main compartment – water will flow into it.
Not sure if washing powder can be poured into the drum? This is not necessary – send it to the powder receiver. And pour a thick liquid washing gel into the drum along with the laundry – this will protect the nozzles and cuvette from blockages.
Follow our recommendations, and washing will bring pleasure, not worries.
