Having a baby is a serious matter. While some couples manage to get pregnant almost on the first try, others spend a huge amount of time and energy on conceiving. Scientists have found that there is a very specific number of sexual acts required to make a new person.
Remember, there is such a terribly vulgar joke about Lieutenant Rzhevsky: “Lieutenant, do you love children? I don’t like children, but the process itself … ”It would seem that attempts to conceive should bring sheer pleasure. But for some reason they don’t.
Scientists have found that, on average, couples have sex 78 times from the moment they decide to have offspring until the second strip appears in the pregnancy test. These 78 times take 158 days for the parents-to-be. That is, to summarize, about six months.
Parent site ChannelMum surveyed 1194 parents and found that most couples made love about 13 times a month while trying to get pregnant. Although it may seem like 13 cases of pleasure. But couples tried so hard to conceive that moments of intimacy were completely spoiled by anxiety and stress – what if it didn’t work out? For 18% of men and women, such sex was a burden. Another 43% felt social pressure (the notorious clock that ticks) and the fear that they will not succeed again.
“While trying to get pregnant can be enjoyable, it’s also hard work and not all couples will be able to get pregnant. Therefore, even focusing on the child, do not forget about each other, ”advises Zoban Frigard, founder of ChannelMum.
Some people think that success in this business depends on the posture. The researchers found that missionary remains the most popular (used by 75% of all couples surveyed).
However, other findings suggest that pregnancy depends on a woman’s menstrual cycle, with half of the women trying to have sex on ovulation days, and 39% improve their diet and take vitamins – and become mothers after nine months.
