How much free time per day do children leave to their parents

You can probably guess that a little. Rather, even a little. But how little?

Mom should have eight hands: one to cook dinner, the second to wash the dishes, the third to iron the child’s head, the fourth to wipe up spilled tea, the fifth to check homework and respond to messages in parental chats, the sixth to clean the tray after the cat, the seventh to put the laundry in the wash. And the eighth to hold on to the head so that it – the head – does not fall off in this mess. But moms and dads still have time for themselves. Scientists even calculated how much, and with an accuracy of the minute. Are you ready to hear the truth? Ta-dam! 32 minutes a day.

Yes, just half an hour can carve out the average parent in between work, household chores and worries about the upbringing of their children. Most of parents admittedthat they don’t have time to eat properly or shower. In a year, the average parent skips about 227 full meals, replacing them with some kind of nonsense. And going shopping is just a dream. Moreover, the parents interviewed admitted that they cheat their children about four times a week in order to make time for themselves. This is why moms hide in the bathroom and dads run to the garage.

What makes up a parent’s day

The week contains only 168 hours. Of these, we spend about 60 outside the home – work, the way back and forth. We spend another 15–20 hours getting the children to school and kindergarten, taking them there, getting ready for work ourselves. Another 56 hours should ideally be spent on sleep. Two hours every night is taken up with chores around the house. The rest of the time the average mom and dad spend on fiddling with children – from 18 to 30 hours a week, according to statisticians. How they manage to carve out time for themselves at the same time remains a mystery. If you only collect scattered minutes throughout the day …

What can you do in 32 minutes?

We came up with several options. What would you choose?

– To wash hair;

– drink a cup of coffee;

– make an omelet with strawberries and eat it;

– hug a loved one;

– lie in silence in silence, staring blankly at the ceiling;

– do exercises;

– thoroughly wash off makeup;

– make yourself a foot massage.

By the way, for those who still doubt that motherhood is not even remotely like a glossy picture, family photographer Daniel Gunther came up with a whole project, depicting the everyday life of a mother as it really is. It seems that it turned out very similarly – scroll through it yourself!
