How much caffeine is in coffee? Are caffeinated candies stimulating? |

Coffee owes its stimulating effect to caffeine. Its content in the drink depends on the type and method of preparation. In traditional Polish coffee grounds filled with boiling water, there is relatively a lot of it, because as long as the cup is in the office, the caffeine from the coffee to the brew is just as long. Especially people with low blood pressure notice the benefits of drinking coffee. But what can you do when there is no access to the black steaming cup drink?

Are caffeinated candies stimulating?

The composition includes, among others sugar, glucose syrup, vegetable fat, coffee extract, soy lecithin, caramel, coffee flavor.

There is caffeine in one candy about 50 mg. They contain the highest amounts of sugar and vegetable fat, usually palm or coconut oil. Coffee extract is only 5%, but eating a candy can stimulate us as well as drinking an espresso. The calorific value is approx 18 kcal for one candy. Unfortunately, the energy here comes mainly from sugar and fat.

Do caffeine bars work?

The composition includes, among others sugar, water, glucose, coconut flakes, vegetable fat, skimmed milk powder, cocoa mass, dried whey, cocoa powder, glucose syrup, caffeine.

The bar weighs about 50 g and provides 250 kcal. Energy comes mainly from carbohydrates. The caffeine content is relatively high, because eating one bar will provide the body with approx 90 mg of caffeine. It is quite a lot. Such a bar will certainly stimulate the body to act. However, it is not intended for a dieter. It is rather an alternative for physically active and training people.

Where can you find caffeine?

Caffeine is found in many foods. We can also find it in dark chocolate (66 mg / 100g), black tea (38 mg / 100g) or cola drinks (10 mg / 100 ml).

How Much Caffeine Is in Energy Drinks?

The composition includes, among others water, caffeine, taurine, sucrose, glucose, B vitamins, inositol.

Energy drinks are not the same as energy drinks, I wrote about the difference between them in the article ‘Liquid energy’. Caffeine content in 250 ml is estimated to be around 80 mg. The upside is the content of B vitamins, the downside is once again the sugar content, and thus unnecessary calories. The agitation after such a product is unfortunately short-lived. In addition, a can of such a drink (250 ml) contains about 113 kcal.

Does chewing gum with caffeine stimulate?

The composition includes, among others sorbitol, maltitol, gum base, glycerol, caffeine, aromas, acacia, soy lecithin, malic acid, aspartame, dyes, sucralose, aspartame-acesulfame salt, acesulfame K, BHT.

This type of gum was once introduced by a large manufacturer of chewing gums to the American market. 1 gum was supposed to replace cup of coffee. The caffeine content in it fluctuated in the region of 40 mg, which is slightly less than in candy. However, Alert Energy rubber production has been stopped. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) was concerned that although the product was intended for adults, children could also use it. More disturbing, however, is the content of other ingredients, such as artificial sweeteners (sucralose, aspartame, acesulfame K, salt of aspartame-acesulfame) or numerous dyes. This is also something that children should avoid.

These products can be put in a purse or backpack and reach for them on the run. But isn’t it better to make an ordinary coffee, take it with you in a thermo mug and spare yourself from eating all these additional substances? What are your coffee substitutes? What are your ways to stimulate? How do you provide energy? How to replace coffee? Share with us in the comments!
