How to cook wild rice

You will need – 1,5 cups of rice, 4,5 cups of water

1. Pour wild rice with water, leave for 12 hours.

2. Drain the wild rice.

3. Pour water into a saucepan and add rice (for 1,5 cups of rice, 4,5 cups of water).

4. Cook for 40 minutes on low heat, covered with salt and spices.

5. Drain the water, salt the rice, add the spices and stir.

As a separate dish, wild rice is not used in cooking. Boiled wild rice can be cooked with vegetables.

Rosemary – 1 sprig

How to cook rice with vegetables

1. Soak wild rice in cold water for 12 hours.

2. Put the wild rice into a saucepan and add 3,5 cups of water.

3. Put the saucepan on a low heat, bring to a boil and cook for 30 minutes, then drain and season with butter.

4. Eggplant, zucchini, peppers, wash and peel.

5. Cut the eggplant into cubes 2 centimeters in size.

6. Pour the eggplants into a bowl, sprinkle with salt, stir and leave for 15 minutes.

7. Peel the garlic and pass through a garlic press.

8. Cut the zucchini into slices.

9. Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

10. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.

11. Finely chop the pepper.

12. Preheat a frying pan, pour in olive oil.

13. Put eggplants, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, onions and garlic in a skillet.

14. Place thyme and rosemary in a skillet, season with salt, pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.

15. Add rice, stir and simmer for another 5 minutes.
