A person who has contracted COVID-19 cannot be vaccinated for the coronavirus immediately after suffering the disease. Regardless of whether the course was asymptomatic or not. A certain period of time must elapse after the SARS-CoV-2 test has been performed after obtaining convalescent status. What? The Ministry of Health dispels doubts.
- On the gov.pl website, there is information that it is recommended to vaccinate convalescents about 6 months after getting sick. It was published on March 6, 2021.
- At the same time, the regulation of the Council of Ministers of March 19, 2021 states that vaccination after infection should take place no earlier than three months after obtaining a negative test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
- We asked the Ministry of Health which recommendation is the current one. We have an unequivocal answer

When can a recovering person get vaccinated for COVID-19? Conflicting information
On the gov.pl website, there is an announcement of the Minister of Health on the vaccination schedules used against COVID-19 with AstraZeneca, Pfizer / BionTech and Moderna.
– It is recommended to vaccinate people with confirmed previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, regardless of the intensity of symptoms, with an interval of approx. 6 months from the onset of the disease (no longer than 180 days). This indication also applies to patients who fell ill with COVID-19 after receiving the first dose – we read on the website gov.pl.

At the same time, the regulation of the Council of Ministers of March 19, 2021 contains completely different information:
Pursuant to § 27 sec. 2 of the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of March 19, 2021 on the establishment of certain restrictions, orders and bans in connection with the occurrence of an epidemic (Journal of Laws, item 512, as amended), people who have suffered an illness caused by infection with the SARS virus -CoV-2 are vaccinated against COVID-19 not earlier than 3 months from the date of obtaining a positive test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
In turn, in the case of people who became infected with SARS-CoV-19 after taking the first dose of the COVID-2 vaccine, it is assumed that the next dose should be received not earlier than after three months.
Not earlier than three months, six months or not more than 180 days? The ministry responds
We asked the Ministry of Health to clarify which position is binding at the moment. It turns out that there is a period of not less than 3 months from infection. At the same time, we also learn that some recoveries will receive only one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
– In Poland, survivors are vaccinated against COVID-19 not earlier than 3 months from the day of obtaining a positive test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 with one dose of the vaccine. This is due to clinical reasons, because in the case of convalescents, vaccination is the second contact of their organisms with the antigen, therefore, to ensure the appropriate level of immunity, it is sufficient to vaccinate such people with one dose of the vaccine. People who were ill earlier than 6 months before issuing the e-referral for vaccination will be vaccinated like those who did not get sick, we read in the response.
We also asked why the change of position on the time between recovery and vaccination for COVID-19 resulted. We have not yet received an answer at this point.
It should be remembered that the disease itself has a huge impact on the entire human body. Therefore, people who have been infected should have blood tests for COVID-19 convalescents prophylactically. You can buy them on Medonet Market at a favorable price.
