How long does a baby sock last? When is it worth seeing a doctor? How to relieve ailments? How long does it take to get worried? The question is answered by the drug. Anna Mitschke.
How long does a baby sock last?
My daughter has a stuffy and serious nose for a long time breathing problems. At first I thought it was a runny nose, but when I went to the doctor it turned out to be it baby sock. The doctor prescribed the daughter nasal drops, but the ailment still persists and more than a week has passed since the visit.
Therefore, I would like to ask how long does a baby sock last? Does the fact that more than a week have passed since the visit to the doctor mean that we should go to the doctor again? Or is it better to wait yet? Unfortunately, I forgot to ask the doctor how long a baby’s wheeze lasts and after what time should I possibly be worried.
I will just add that my daughter has no allergies and I follow the doctor’s recommendations and, apart from using nasal drops, I try to ventilate and moisturize the room so that my daughter can breathe as easily as possible. However, I am worried because despite my best efforts, the baby sock does not yield. And I do not know how long I can use the drops because I am afraid that they will cause side effects.

Cap to impaired nasal patency in the newborn as a result of swelling of the mucosa of the nasal passages. It most often arises as a result of improper care of the newborn. Often as a result of inserting the rubber bulb tip too far. We should only clean the baby’s nasal cavity in the vestibule of the nose.
It is a persistent disease that can significantly disrupt the functioning of a young child. There may be feeding problems and your baby may wake up more often. In this case, it is recommended to rinse the infant’s nose with a physiological saline solution in the form of a swab on a cotton ball. After this procedure, the baby should be placed on its tummy or on its side to avoid aspiration.
The sap can be caused by other causes, such as allergic rhinitis. Symptoms may appear periodically during the pollen season of the plants to which the child is allergic. In this case, diagnosis by an allergist is necessary.
A common reason is infectious rhinitis. With the cessation of the infection, the symptoms associated with the impaired nasal patency disappear. In this case, symptoms usually disappear within 10-14 days.
Sometimes the sap can be a symptom of a dangerous pathology. Some malformations of the nasal cavity can manifest in this way. These include, for example, atresia of the posterior nostrils, meningeal hernia and others.
A careful interview with parents about the course of pregnancy, childbirth, burdens in the family, and the child’s development can help to identify the cause of the disease. It is also necessary to examine the child, which will show how severe the symptoms are. Sometimes it is advisable to visit an ENT specialist who will perform rhinoscopy (nose endoscopy).
The duration of the sap depends on the cause that caused it. If symptoms persist, please consult the pediatrician who is guiding your child. Perhaps it is necessary to implement further diagnostics or change the treatment.
