How I Make Homemade Brandy Almond Shell Infusion: The Simplest Recipe

At some point in life, visiting nightclubs, restaurants, cafes bothers you. Yes, one cannot but agree that feasts at home later threaten with mountains of dirty dishes, but, most likely, these are just little things in life that are insignificant compared to the pleasure that will be received when communicating with friends and relatives.

During the feast, I offer my friends a tincture with almonds. We call it “homemade brandy”.

Why I decided to make alcohol myself

In any supermarket there is an opportunity to choose what you want from the abundance of varieties of alcoholic products. But, unfortunately, not always the financial situation allows you to buy good alcohol.

And personally, I’m not always sure about the quality of the alcohol sold, so the idea came to my mind that you can make brandy with your own hands at home. As they say, the eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing.

Having tried once a drink of your own preparation, you forever forget that there is something else.

I want to share a recipe for making homemade brandy, or you can also call it an almond shell tincture, which I have been using for a long time.

What ingredients are required

This drink is based on almond shells, but the kernels themselves are also present in the recipe. In order to prepare the tincture, you need to prepare the following products:

  • 60 g of peeled almonds;
  • 110 g of almond shell;
  • 1 l 100 ml of vodka;
  • 110 grams of sugar;
  • 70 ml water.

We crush the nuts not quite into dust.

The cooking process

Products for cooking must be used, fresh, high-quality and natural. Strict adherence to the recipe is the key to the success of the final result.

  1. First you need to prepare a container where the infusion process will take place. I usually use a regular three liter jar. I thoroughly wash and dry it first.
  2. Almond kernels must be crushed. For this, any means at hand are suitable: a knife, a meat grinder, a rolling pin, a mortar, a blender. Put the chopped almonds on the bottom of the jar.
  3. Then put the shell in the second layer. Pour in all the alcohol. Leave alone for about 30 days to infuse.
  4. After this period, it is necessary to strain the tincture through a sieve or gauze.
  5. We cook sugar syrup. It is prepared quite simply. Take a saucepan or a small saucepan, put on the stove. Pour sugar and pour it with water. Stir occasionally so nothing sticks to the bottom. When the sugar is completely dissolved, then the syrup is ready and you can turn off the fire.
  6. After the syrup has cooled to room temperature, it is necessary to pour it into the tincture, mix thoroughly. Pour into bottles or jars, tightly close the lids. Leave for another 3 weeks for the tincture to finally reach.

What result did I get

The resulting brandy exceeded all my expectations. The drink turned out to be a beautiful caramel color, its strength is slightly lower than 40 vol.
