PSYchology

The universe from the point of view of science is the entire space of the outer world, consisting of stars and planets of different galaxies.

According to Wikipedia, this fundamental concept of astronomy, not strictly defined, includes the entire world around us. In practice, the Universe is often understood as a part of the material world, accessible to study by natural science methods.

However, in psychology and among fans of psychology, a different understanding of the Universe, or the World, is common: it is some Big entity that somehow relates to us, somehow reacts to our life and which we can control to one degree or another if we do it right applies to her.

In fact, such a Universe is a projection of the image of the parent: strict or kind. How we see the Universe (read — the image of parents) depends both on the individual situation of upbringing and on the large culture surrounding us.

In the Eastern religious culture, the “Universe” is strict, punishes for bad behavior, spoiling karma. — It is easy to understand that this is a reflection of the Eastern traditions of raising children.

In modern Western culture, the Universe is often friendly, it gives a person many opportunities, tells him the right path, leaving Signs. — Similarly, this is a clear projection of the modern humanistic style of education.

Often, and for many people, the Universe seems to be a Single Information Field, in which everything is recorded: the past, the future, and all possible life options, and then someone who has intuition can receive all the necessary information for free. — It seems that this is a reflection of the style of upbringing, where the child grew up as a helpless creature next to omnipotent parents, where it was difficult to earn something from the parents, but it was possible to get it rather by chance or if you guessed something or cleverly invented it.

Most of all, the childish helpless position next to the Mighty Parents is expressed in the position of mystics, for whom the Universe is a faceless community of Higher Forces. Mystics love to talk about the Universe and with the Universe in the belief that it is not indifferent to them, their thoughts, desires and voices: “The Universe will open all your possibilities to you!” «Listen to what the universe is telling you!»

Open mysticism, however, is not inherent in many, and most authors speak about the Universe at the level of everyday superstitions, within the framework of the humanitarian-phenomenological approach. In particular, one of the important presuppositions in NLP is, «The universe is friendly to us,» and people usually like it. It is clear that there is no more scientific content in this phrase than in coffee grounds. There is no science here, not even close. But if it warms a person, gives him confidence, then let him be with him. If he deciphers this phrase as «there are many people in the world who are friendly towards us,» then this is all the more good. Yes?
