It all started when a local resident Tatiana was hospitalized in a village in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The neighbors were sure that the woman, who, by the way, was distinguished by some oddities, lived alone. Imagine their surprise when a few days later at the site they saw Tatyana’s daughter, who, even in the village where everyone knows each other, had long been considered either dead or gone somewhere far away. As it turned out, 42-year-old Nadya all this time lived with her mother, without leaving her home. True, it is difficult to call this hut a home: it is even difficult to imagine such unsanitary conditions. There is no electricity, water or gas here for a long time. Even the usual cleaning of the house of Nadezhda, who was immediately nicknamed the Mowgli woman, had not been seen for many years.
Nadia washed herself for the last time, according to her, in 2006. It seems that it was combed at the same time: the hair was matted in a mat, similar to a beaver’s tail.
At first glance, the reason for Nadezhda’s seclusion may seem ridiculous: her neighbor was chasing and harassing a young girl at that time. As a result, both Nadya and her mother became recluses – the woman simply closed her daughter at home to protect her from intrusive attention.
The journalists also found a neighbor who, as expected, denied such accusations. Be that as it may, the behavior of the mother and daughter can hardly be called adequate, even if the persecution really took place.
“Trauma can unfold in different ways. These women could have developed a hermit complex – “there is nothing good in this world, you cannot rely on anyone.” But with any hermit’s complex, the way they live is abnormal, ”says the guest of Andrei Malakhov’s program, psychologist Annette Orlova.
Neighbors indirectly confirm this. Say, Tatiana, the mother of Nadezhda, was always unsociable, refused any help. I threw away even the clothes that the neighbors brought under the door. She kept her daughter in austerity since childhood, she did not let go to dances, or to take a walk.

“I don’t know where to go. I have not been anywhere. When I was in school, I went out somewhere else, but now I don’t. I do not know anything. I eat cat food. I like it – it’s delicious. Well, any other rotten meat that I can find. I used to love pears, plums, pies, ”she told reporters.
The alleged father of Nadezhda also came to the studio to Andrei Malakhov. True, he himself is not sure of this: every now and then he gets confused in words. She calls the Mowgli woman a daughter, then she says that it still needs to be proved.
“I haven’t seen her for 10 years. She was good, but now I didn’t even recognize her, ”he was amazed.
Nadezhda asks to help her find a job and arrange documents. The 42-year-old woman does not even have a passport – only a birth certificate. Now social workers and doctors have taken over. First of all, you need to make sure that the heroine of the shocking plot is healthy, and at least socialize her a little. In addition, she is helped to tidy up the house and a long-abandoned plot.

Nadezhda’s mother is still in the hospital, and it is unknown whether she knows what changes are taking place in her daughter’s life. But Nadya is very much looking forward to her return: all these years, her mother was the only person she saw next to her.
