You can purchase special flower beds of various sizes and shapes that will look beautiful on any site.
The classic ones are square or round flower beds, laid out on lawns and lawns.
A cute fence around the flower beds can be made from ordinary plastic bottles dug into the ground with the necks up. From old pots, basins, buckets, baskets and other unnecessary household utensils, you can make various figures for decorating a flower garden – fungi, stumps, boats, etc.
Both annuals and perennial flowers can be used to decorate flower beds. Most often, perennials are planted, since they do not need to be sown annually. It is necessary to take into account the height of the plants when forming a flower bed. If it is located in front of a garden fence, a wall of a house, in front of trees or shrubs, then the tall plants should be planted in the back, and the lowest ones should be placed at the front edge. If the flower bed is located on a flower island, tall plants should decorate the center.
Tall flowers are planted individually or in small groups. Next to them, one or more medium-sized accompanying should always be placed, which should be in harmony with other colors in color and shape. Small plants (primrose, herbal carnation, bergenia) should be planted in groups of several.
When planting, the need for flowers in the occupied area should be taken into account. If they are planted too far apart, there will be bald spots in the flower bed, which will become overgrown with weeds. If plants are placed too closely together, some of them will not develop normally and may die.
When choosing flowers to decorate flower beds, it is recommended to create groups of them that will be repeated in the overall composition.
The holes in the beds can be closed with ground cover plants. In two or three years they will cover the earth with a dense carpet. Ground cover evergreens, such as Aubrieta or Waldsteinia, are especially good for decorating flower beds, which provide a smooth transition from the flower garden to the part of the garden that is not occupied by flowers.
