How and how to wash chocolate
Chocolate stains are classified as stubborn stains. How to wash chocolate off your favorite skirt or tablecloth? The article offers several affordable and effective recipes for dealing with this problem.
What comes in handy for removing stains
To solve this difficult task, you may need some kitchen and pharmaceutical supplies, as well as simple inventory:
- clothes brush;
- a piece of clean white cloth;
- blotting paper or tissue paper;
- cotton pad or swab;
- ear sticks;
- a small piece of a board;
- salt;
- ammonia;
- glycerol;
- boric acid;
- hydrogen peroxide;
- laundry soap with the effect of removing stains.
With a brush, you clean the product from dust and other dry surface contaminants. A cotton pad, ear sticks and tissue will come in handy for treating the most problematic area. Blotting paper or a napkin is placed under the wrong side of the fabric to prevent spreading of your product. The pad is used, for example, when processing trousers, so as not to affect the cleaning agent on a clean cloth.
How to wash chocolate: recipes
Apply concentrated saline solution to a fresh stain, wait a few minutes, and rinse with clean water. Repeat the procedure until the fabric is cleaned. In the same way, you can apply a solution of ammonia 1: 1 with water.
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide to remove stains from white fabrics. Apply it on the stained area, wait about 15 minutes, rinse with water. You may need to repeat the procedure several times.
On silk and wool products, you can remove chocolate with glycerin. Warm glycerin is applied to the problem area and wait 15 minutes. Then the product is washed in warm water.
Before acting on the fabric with this or that remedy, try on a tester that is stitched to the product or on an inconspicuous area of the fabric.
If the stain is old, wash it with warm water and laundry soap. Leave it on for half an hour, then rinse.
Take a large spoonful of ammonia, glycerin and a small spoonful of medical alcohol. Apply the mixture to the stained area and wipe with a clean cloth, reapply and wipe off. Then rinse with warm water.
The boric acid solution will help wash the chocolate. It is applied to the stain without rubbing in for 10 minutes. Then the product is washed by hand or in a typewriter.
