How and how much to cook beef?

Beef meat, although very common in cooking, is very easy to spoil. Poorly cooked meat will be tough and ruin the entire meal. To determine how long to cook beef, it is important to know which portion of the carcass will be cooked.

How much beef to cook:

  • if it is a brisket or thigh, then the meat must be cooked for at least 2,5-3 hours;
  • if it is the scapular or sacral part of the carcass, then it takes about 2 hours to cook;
  • if the beef has been frozen, the pieces will cook for about 2 hours.

How long you need to cook beef meat will also be influenced by the size of the piece. To make the beef soft, you need to cook it in a piece, the size of which is no more than 2 kg. The smaller the piece, the faster it will be ready.

Choose a large beef pot, the meat should be completely covered with water. Beef is cooked under a closed lid over low heat. Sometimes it is necessary to lift the lid and make sure that the meat does not rise to the surface of the water. When the meat is ready, turn off the fire and leave the beef in the broth for another 15 minutes.

You can also cook beef meat in a multicooker using the “stewing” mode. In this case, it will cook for 2,5-3 hours.

Fresh pitted meat can be cooked in a double boiler. The sliced ​​beef will be ready in 25-40 minutes.

If you cook beef in the microwave, cut it into small pieces of the same size. The meat is cooked under the lid, about 25-40 minutes.

To determine if the beef is cooked, you can cut a piece with a knife. Properly cooked meat is easy to cut into pieces… You can also check the readiness by piercing a piece with a fork. If the fork fits easily, then the meat has been cooked correctly.
