How to remove fresh stains
Experts recommend not to start with harsh chemicals such as bleaches or stain removers. They thin the fibers of the fabric and make it brittle. They are preferred when the pollution is old and was noticed late. For fresh stains on clothing, there are several ways to remove the paste.
- Soak a part of the clothes with ink in water with vinegar and soda for 1-2 hours, do not rub, so that the stain does not creep even further. Wash with laundry soap by hand or send for a delicate wash in the machine.
- For light-colored fabrics, soak in serum followed by washing in powder for white linen.
- Lemon juice contains a lot of fruit acids. It bleaches well, so it can be used to remove ink from white clothes. It is applied with a sponge to the fabric and left for 40-60 minutes. After washing, the procedure can be repeated.
- If the fabric is not white, apply hydrogen peroxide with a cotton pad or sponge. It has a slight bleaching effect but leaves yellow streaks on white. The peroxide can be applied several times in a row at intervals of 30-40 minutes until the stain disappears. This method is not suitable for bright and dark fabrics.
- Alcohol treatment is suitable for any fabric other than cotton. They blot the stain, rubbing lightly into the fibers. Next, wipe the stain with a damp cloth and allow to dry. If not all of the ink has been removed, the treatment is repeated again.
These methods allow you to gently clean the fabric without disturbing the structure of its fibers. For the perfect effect, each of the procedures can be repeated several times.
How to wash out old pasta
How can the paste be removed if the stain is old? Soaking in bleach for light-colored fabrics or stain remover for colored fabrics will help. In order not to spoil the clothes, they first look at the tags in the seams. If whitening is acceptable, there should be no surprises. Use bleach in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
If a stain remover is used, it should have the Oxi mark on it. This means that the product is able to remove dirt thanks to active oxygen, which is safe for the color of the fabric, and not aggressive chlorine.
Before using any chemistry, it is better to try ways that are more gentle and safe for clothing and health.
