Housewives’ health hazardous habits, culinary mistakes
Everybody does it. I mean, they’re wrong. However, it is better to try to avoid some mistakes by all means. First, it’s not difficult. Secondly, we will be healthier.
Do you know what is the dirtiest place in the apartment? No, this is not a toilet. And not the space in front of the front door. Not even a nursery, where a horde of young guests had just frolicked. It’s a kitchen. This is because contaminants are mostly invisible: they are bacteria that we bring into the house with food and even help spread to all surfaces. But this is not the only danger that comes from here. There are at least 11 mistakes that each of us made at least once in our life.
Mistake 1: washing meat, chicken and fish
This is a completely pointless exercise. Bacteria, which are often found on the surface of a chicken or fish, cannot be washed off with water. In this way we spread the same salmonella together with spray wherever possible. And in their hands they also frolic with pleasure. Therefore, it is best to simply blot a piece of meat, fish or chicken with a napkin and cook right away. And the first broth, when it comes to soup, must be drained. By the way, what else is on the list of products that do not need to be washed, you can read HERE.
There can be any kind of rubbish on the skin of an exotic fruit: we do not know where he traveled before he came to our house. If you put unwashed bananas on the table, all this filth from the skin crawls onto him, onto his hands, onto other products. And, of course, on the banana itself during the peeling process.
Mistake 3: frying in the same oil a second time
It is especially a pity to part with the butter from the pies. After all, there is half a liter of it in a frying pan, no less! But we must part. When reheated, carcinogens are formed in the oil, which can cause the growth of malignant tumors. And don’t underestimate this danger. There are too many of these risk factors in today’s environment. Why aggravate?
Mistake 4: don’t fry the chicken
Or we don’t boil it. Or we don’t bake. Chicken is the most dangerous meat in our kitchen. It is most commonly infected with salmonella. This bacterium is killed only by prolonged heat treatment. However, both fish and meat will not hurt to boil and fry properly. God takes care of the bearded, you know yourself.
Mistake 5: cooking fried more than twice a week
If you eat something fried in oil every day, even a little, you increase the risk of premature death from cardiovascular disease and the development of tumors. And that’s not to mention obesity. The first at risk are women over 50. But for prevention, the amount of fried can be minimized at a younger age.
Mistake 6: defrosting meat on the table
Or, for example, on a cutting board. Juice from raw meat can leak into any tiny crevice or crack, and from there bacteria will spread throughout the kitchen. Better not to risk it, but put it right in the bag in a bowl, and put that in the sink.
Mistake 7: cutting meat and vegetables on the same board
Raw meat, fish and poultry should only be cut on a separate board. It would seem simple, but this rule of hygiene is often neglected. But after meat, the board cannot be washed to an ideal state. Therefore, it is not worth cutting what you are going to eat raw on it: there is a great risk of poisoning.
Mistake 8: eating raw dough
Very! Well, it’s just very tempting to try pastry for cakes, for example. It smells so great! And even dumplings dough sometimes beckons to bite off a piece. Especially, by the way, children often sin with this. And they risk catching salmonella, which is often infected with chicken eggs. And you should never pull the purchased dough raw into your mouth at all. After all, you can never check what it is actually made of.
Mistake 9: tasting stale food
Has it deteriorated? No? Maybe this soup can still be eaten? Not worth it. If the smell bothers you even a little, send food to rest. Sometimes even a tiny bite or a couple of spoons is enough to treat an upset stomach or poisoning.
Mistake 10: trimming the mold
Moldy food should be sent to the same place as stale food. Cutting off the crust on which the nasty stains have gone doesn’t mean you’ve gotten rid of the mold. Their disputes have already sprouted all over the piece. Mold releases mycotoxins that can both poison and cause allergies.
Mistake 11: warming food in plastic
As they put the leftover soup or pasta in the container in the refrigerator, they then threw it into the microwave. Well, don’t get a whole pot dirty for the sake of one plate! Moreover, there is no pot at work. Please note: some types of plastics emit hazardous substances when heated – phthalates. We eat them with food. Phthalates are dangerous because they accumulate in the body and cause various ailments – from allergies to hormonal disruption.
