Hot tropics: we tell you how to choose the right perfume in summer

Summer garden scents or thick woody and oud aromas: in order not to irritate those around you, you need to wear scents wisely.

1. Sleep with him

It is worth spending a whole day together with a perfume you like – to find out how it behaves on the skin in the morning, mixing with shower gel, in the evening, on “tired” skin, and at night, when it does not mix with extraneous odors. Opening up, the perfume sometimes gives out completely different notes that were originally declared in it – for example, the notes of one chord may differ on cold and warm skin, on a rainy or hot day.

2. Summer is not always flowers and fruits.

“Compote” aromas (those with apricot, apples, raspberry and rose in the top notes) are, of course, very popular, but in the heat they can “suffocate” and cause a headache. It is worth trying the aldehydes (transparent aromas of purity), aquatic, forest smells that have returned from the oblivion of perfume. They will “go” equally well both on a hot afternoon and on a cool evening. For example, Kenzo L’Eau Kenzo Pour Femme Aquadisiac with lotus and white musk, crystal-clear Chanel No. 19 or a hit with more than 20 years of history – Hermes Caleche.

3. Try sprays.

The Tom Ford perfume line, for example, has been releasing its rich fragrances in a spray for the second year now. They are ideal for relaxation and summer heat – not as concentrated as eau de toilette, but with a larger volume. Payot and Clarins have similar ones, and Chanel’s fragrant hair mist is suitable for evening hairstyles.

4. Follow the flankers.

In the summer, not only cosmetic rarities come out, but also perfumery ones. For example, one of the most successful summer launches is Calvin Klein’s CK One Summer or Thierry Mugler’s new version of Alien called Alien Eau Extraordinaire. Also from the latest summer fragrances came Gucci Bamboo Limited Edition with lily, ylang-ylang, tart bergamot and powdery-tender Dahlia Divin Nude from Givenchy, reminiscent of the dawn on the seaside.

5. Time to save.

While on vacation, try to take not your usual perfume, but a novelty or a mono aroma – in the hot air even the simplest lemon or mint will add volume, and an extensive composition may fail. You can pay attention to the new perfumes Betty Barklay or Demeter: there are not many chords in them.

6. Don’t follow the rules.

Most importantly, remember: summer is a time for experimentation. Nobody forbids getting typical winter scents from the back drawer. It’s always interesting to check how rough skin or notes of cashmere will sound on the skin heated by the sun – what if this atypical combination turns out to be the most attractive?
