Recall that Hot Toddy is a warming drink, the recipe of which includes hot water, sugar and Scotch whiskey. But the classic recipe for Toddy was so good that they decided to diversify it a little, replacing everything and everything. So hot Toddy with bourbon was born, and a drink, the recipe of which you will get acquainted with below.

In general, Toddy can be safely called a whole subsection of warming cocktails, by analogy with mulled wines, grogs and other warm drinks, the recipes of which are innumerable. Everything is very simple – absolutely all the ingredients can be questioned and replaced. Water can be safely replaced with juices, tea, compote and everything that is suitable for a “warm” base.

Sugar, of course, it is advisable to replace honey. Alcohol – any that comes to hand, but it is desirable that it be a strong copy, a high-quality copy. Well, offhand, you can add any spice from those that warm, for example, from spices for mulled wine.

Gin toddy recipe

  • 1 ginger tea bag
  • 240 ml of water
  • 1 st. spoon of honey
  • 30 ml of gin
  • 1 circle of lemon

Preparation:

Tea bag in a cup. It is better if you make your own ginger tea – just chop some ginger root and pour hot water over it, then strain it. Ground cinnamon will come in very handy here, it will turn out to be a kind of tonic for colds.

If you still decide to use tea bags, then just fill it with hot water (not boiling water, somewhere around 90-95 degrees).

We wait 3-5 minutes, remove the bag, add honey and gin. Mix well.

Add a circle of lemon, you can slightly crush it.
