Hot apple bourbon

Hot Apple Bourbon is an excellent warming drink for big parties – a great alternative to punch and other such goodies. He himself is somewhat reminiscent of hot Toddy, but the recipe is slightly different. It is very easy to prepare, and your house will be filled with a wonderful aroma. After all, who would say no to bourbon? 😀

The recipe below for apple bourbon makes 10-15 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 1,8-2 liters of apple juice or cider;
  • 300 ml bourbon (or whiskey);
  • 2 cinnamon sticks;
  • 8-10 buds of cloves;
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg;
  • A few peas of allspice (to taste);
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (can be replaced with vanilla);
  • 50 d Sahara.

All ingredients are replaceable. As a bourbon, you can take any American drink, for example, cheap Jim Beam. Vanilla essence can be safely replaced with vanilla bags or vanilla sugar, or you can even put vanilla in a pod, like in hot vanilla cider. Sugar is better to use brown, cane.

We cook this way:

1. Pour the juice or fresh cider into a saucepan, put it on the fire, add all the spices and boil for 10-15 minutes. Add sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved. Before adding sugar, you can taste the drink to make sure it is spicy.

2. Remove the pan from the heat, wait 10-15 minutes and add the bourbon. Pour the resulting drink into a jug or a 2-3-liter jar through a funnel and a sieve, or through a layer of gauze.

3. Serve hot apple bourbon in heat-resistant glasses or cups, garnish with cinnamon sticks. If the drink has cooled down, it can be warmed up again, but not much, so as not to evaporate the alcohols. Thanks to the “warm spices”, apple bourbon will warm the whole company after a long walk in the cold. Bon Appetit!
