Hostelco & Alimentaria in May 2021

Together with the Alimentaria show, the fair for the hospitality sector returns.

The next edition of Hostelco, the leading exhibition in Spain for Catering, Hospitality and Community Equipment and one of the first in Europe in its specialty, will take place from May 17 to 20, 2021

The commitment to one of the largest international platforms for the food, gastronomy and hospitality equipment industry is thus revalidated.

The show organized by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Machinery for Hospitality, Communities and Related Industries, has agreed with the sector on the new dates, responding to the request of its main companies and associations with the objective to celebrate the best possible edition that contributes to the recovery of this industry.

The Organizing Committee of the show, made up of the main associations and companies in the sector, has agreed today the new dates of the event in order to achieve maximum participation, contribute to the economic reactivation of the sector, add synergies with Alimentaria and consolidate a great platform fair that already in its previous edition brought together 4.500 companies and 150.000 professional visitors at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue, 25% of whom were of international origin.

This decision has the endorsement of the industry and its main associations such as:

  • FELAC; the Association of Spanish Manufacturers Exporters of Equipment for Hospitality and Communities.
  • AFEHC; the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation.
  • CEHAT, and the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero.
  • ITH; the Business Confederation of Hospitality of Spain
  • ICEX Spain Export and Investments.

The new dates and the alliance with Alimentaria seem the most propitious framework for Hostelco to be ratified as a key tool to boost the competitiveness of hotels, restaurants, communities and foodservice in a context of necessary economic reactivation.

The president of Hostelco and FELAC, Rafael Olmos, underlines that the event will help hotels, restaurants and communities to revitalize businesses at a particularly complex time:

“The objective of the show is to provide all its support to the sector, taking advantage of synergies with food and gastronomy and betting on new technologies, digitization, sustainability and personalized experiences.”

For his part, the general director of Alimentaria Exhibitions, J. Antonio Valls, affirms that:

“In May 2021 Hostelco and Alimentaria will once again celebrate a great edition together, with the complicity of the sector, by presenting both the distribution and the hotel channel the most complete and transversal offer in the world of gastronomy and hospitality. Hostelco will help to reactivate the market for equipment, exports and promote new business models with the aim of boosting a sector particularly affected by the health crisis ”.
