Hospitality lessons: Rostourism launched online courses

Rostourism has launched a free online educational program for hotel employees for the first time. The courses can train line staff, beginners and experienced entrepreneurs

What’s going on

  • Rostourism has launched online programs as part of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. To access the courses, you need to register on the portal.
  • The courses are available to all employees of any hotels in the format of video lessons. Now the site presents programs for employees of the reception and accommodation service (S&R) and service department. Over time, the program will be supplemented with new directions.
  • Programs for entrepreneurs are presented in the format of an incubator and an accelerator. These courses teach how to open your own hotel or campsite, launch a tourist project for children’s recreation, and develop national tourist routes.
  • Included with the video lesson are methodological materials and tasks for self-examination.
  • According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, online courses help accelerate the development of tourism infrastructure, as well as train qualified personnel. As part of the national project, the first 11 free educational courses for line personnel and entrepreneurs were launched. In the future, their number will increase.

An example of tips for maintaining the privacy of hotel guests from an educational program:

Never give out the guest room number to anyone!

Reply from an SR&R employee (reception and accommodation services) to a request about those staying at the hotel:

— Unfortunately, the hotel does not provide such information. This guest is not registered in our hotel.

By asking the caller how to introduce him, or by answering “I will connect you”, the SPiR employee provides information about the fact that the guest is staying at the hotel. This information is confidential.
