Honey, lemon and jasmine flower: drinking green tea with health benefits

Tea quenches thirst? Certainly. Does good tea taste good? Undoubtedly. Is tea good for health and figure? Yes, but … We’ll talk about these “buts”. How should green tea be brewed and with what to drink it to get the maximum benefit from it?

How to brew this drink in order to get the most out of it? To begin with, it is worth deciding on the goals and conditions:

  • Why are you planning to make green tea?
  • what ingredients do you use when brewing.

Based on the goals set, one or another method of brewing and the necessary components are selected.

jasmine flowers

Jasmine tea has been known for a long time and is very popular in China. The tea leaves are infused with the aroma of jasmine flowers, resulting in a sweet and mild taste.

Tea contains catechins, which increase the metabolic rate, which subsequently helps the body burn fat faster. Jasmine is known for its medicinal properties and is highly effective in aromatherapy.

Studies have shown that inhaling the scent of jasmine slows down the heart rate and has a calming effect on both the human nervous system and mood.

Jasmine tea is useful for improving blood circulation. The antiviral and antibacterial properties found in it help prevent colds and the flu.

It is easy to make, but keep in mind that jasmine tea becomes bitter when steeped for a long time or if the water is too hot. The ideal temperature for brewing is around +80°C. To achieve it, it is enough to bring the water in the kettle to a boil, and then cool for two minutes.

Milk

Green tea with milk is a great choice for those looking to lose weight. It is these two ingredients that are very well combined with each other, although special aesthetes and connoisseurs believe that the addition of other components spoils the taste of the drink. For example, milk reduces the negative effects of caffeine in tea.

It is better to enjoy the prepared drink in the morning or in the middle of the day. And it is recommended to use during the day the same amount of water as tea. Milk with green tea has diuretic properties, and water maintains the necessary fluid balance and removes harmful substances from the body.

For brewing, one to one and a half liters of milk with 2,5% fat content is poured into the pan, as it will contain the optimal combination of nutrients and minerals. Bring milk to a boil, but do not boil. Add one tablespoon of green tea to the hot liquid and stir. Next, let the broth brew for 20 minutes in a saucepan covered with a lid, and then filter.

Lemon

All over the world it is believed that the use of freshly brewed tea, to which lemon slices are added, is a purely Russian invention. According to doctors, this combination not only gives a special taste to the drink, but also has a positive effect on human health.

Thanks to the action of lemon, green tea is saturated with vitamins that enhance its healing properties, restore energy, fight fatigue and perfectly refresh. For a cold, lemon tea is a great tool for a quick recovery due to its high vitamin C content.

When the two products interact, the acidity of the lemon decreases and the strength of the tea decreases, which contributes to the digestive processes. To preserve the effect of vitamin C, it is recommended to add fruit slices when the liquid has cooled slightly.

Honey

The beneficial properties of honey are known to all. But many add it, like lemon, immediately to hot, freshly brewed tea. With such a thermal effect, all useful substances are destroyed. At temperatures above +60°C, according to doctors, fructose in honey is modified, its effect becomes harmful to liver cells.

Therefore, it is recommended to add honey to warm green tea, usually below +40°C. Or drink “bite” without mixing them in a cup.

Following these recommendations, you can also prepare a mixture of green tea with lemon wedges and honey. The combination of these ingredients is extremely beneficial for a person, and the drink itself is equally good both in heat and cold. It can be drunk all year round – hot in winter and chilled in summer.

Enjoy your tea!
