Hoarseness affects in various situations – strains of the throat and vocal cords or with a cold. Homeovox is a homeopathic medicine that works by relieving hoarseness. But how to dose it? What are the contraindications for use?
Homeovox – indications and action
Boiron Homeovox is a homeopathic medicine in the form of lozenges. The manufacturer recommends using it in case of hoarseness and strained vocal cords. Homeovox can be taken, among others. after singing or talking for a long time. The substances contained in the drug soothe irritations and protect the mucosa of the throat and the vocal cords.
Homeovox – composition
The Homeovox leaflet describes two groups of ingredients. The active substances of the drug include:
- acorn
- arum clover
- phosphorous iron
- calendula officinalis
- toasted sponge
- belladonna,
- Hahnemann’s soluble mercury
- calcareous liver of sulphur,
- kalium bichromicum,
- populus candicans,
- bryonia dioica.
Auxiliary substances in the composition of Homeovox are:
- sucrose,
- lactose,
- corn starch,
- talk,
- magnesium stearate,
- acacia gum,
- gelatine,
- white wax,
- carnauba wax.
Homeovox – dosage
The homeopathic medicine Homeovox should be used according to the recommendations of the doctor or pharmacist, and also after reading the attached leaflet. If in doubt, consult your doctor. Homeovox lozenges are intended for oral use.
Dosage of the drug in children between 6 and 12 years of age should be agreed with the doctor. In turn, for people over 12 years of age, it is recommended to suck 2 tablets 4 times a day the day before, and also on the day of excessive strain on the throat and vocal cords (while talking or singing). In case of hoarseness or loss of voice, it is recommended to use Homeovox 2 lozenges every hour. The frequency of admission should be reduced with a noticeable improvement in the condition of the throat and vocal cords. Regardless of the severity of hoarseness, remember that you can take a maximum of 8 Homeovox tablets per day.
Homeovox – contraindications
Homeovox should not be taken by patients who are hypersensitive to any of the active substances or excipients contained in the medicine. It is recommended to consult a doctor in people with intolerance to certain sugars (including sucrose) and lactose, which are components of the Homeovox medical device.
It is also recommended to contact your doctor if you are taking Homeovox tablets during pregnancy, if you suspect a pregnancy or plan it. The same precautions should also be taken by breastfeeding mothers, as well as people taking other medications or planning to take them in the near future.
The homeopathic medicine Homeovox should be stored in a dry place inaccessible to children, at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees C.
