Homemade vs factory made – science experiment

After much research, experts concluded that heavily processed food has a negative impact on human health.

In the course of the joint work of Brazilian and French scientists who conducted research on food after deep technological processing, its effect on human health was established. Foods that are very common in the modern world were studied, for example: processed cereals, cereals and muesli; sausage and sausages; soups in briquettes. In addition, sweets, in particular bars, were also subjected to research.

Everyone knows that after industrial processing, there will not be enough vitamins, microelements, fiber in all this. Instead, other not entirely useful components will appear: fats, salts and a lot of unnecessary sugar. It’s no secret that this provokes the development of obesity in humans, high blood pressure and other diseases.

A published article in The BMJ magazine states that the studies were conducted with the participation of more than 100 French people. These were women and men over forty years of age. At the beginning of the experiment, all of them were in excellent health. For five years they were observed in the medical plan (we studied their medical indicators). At the same time, twice a day, people took part in online surveys and a special diet. Experts estimated the consumption of 3300 completely different products.

Scientists noted that during the experiment, 2228 people were diagnosed with cancer. Experts tried to identify the causes, so the age of patients, gender, genetic predisposition, bad habits and other significant factors were studied. But their conclusion was unequivocal – people whose menu had more processed foods increase the risk of cancerous pathologies, especially breast cancer.

With an increase in the daily menu by ten percent with finished products, that is, semi-finished products, the risk of developing cancer increases by twelve percent. The risk of developing breast cancer in this case increases by eleven percent.

An interesting fact: foods that undergo a little technological processing do not affect human health so much. These include fresh bread, hard cheese, preservation, etc.

From the foregoing, we can conclude: it is better to use fresh foods or those that have undergone minimal processing. They can reduce the risk of developing oncology in general (in particular breast cancer). Such products include: milk and eggs, fish and meat, vegetables and fruits, pastas, rice and legumes.
