Homemade viburnum tincture on vodka, alcohol or moonshine

Properly made tincture on viburnum can be drunk not only for pleasure. In moderation, the drink helps with hypertension, insomnia and cleans blood vessels. The recipe is simple, for cooking you just need to pick the berries at the right time and pour strong alcohol. Homemade vodka on viburnum increases appetite, and tart taste and light bitterness have found their admirers.

A 2-liter container (bottle or jar) should be prepared in advance. In addition to store-bought vodka, ethyl alcohol diluted with water up to 40-45%, purified moonshine (odorless) or cheap cognac is suitable. Sugar can be replaced with liquid honey.

Ingredients:

  • vodka (moonshine, alcohol) – 0,5 liters;
  • viburnum berries – 0,5 kg;
  • sugar (honey) – to taste.

For viburnum tincture, it is better to collect berries immediately after the first frost, at which time the fruits become sweetish and lose their unpleasant, bitter taste. An alternative option is to place the berries for 2-3 hours in the freezer.

Recipe for vodka on viburnum

1. Remove viburnum from bunches, sort out, remove spoiled and unripe fruits. Wash suitable berries and drain.

2. Pour viburnum into a jar (bottle).

3. Add vodka (alcohol) so that the alcohol base covers the layer of berries by at least 2-3 cm.

4. Close tightly with a stopper or lid. Leave for a day.

5. Add the remaining alcohol and close tightly.

6. Infuse vodka on viburnum for 30 days in a dark room at room temperature. Shake every 5 days.

7. Filter the drink through gauze, squeeze the berries well (no longer needed). If desired, add honey or sugar (to taste). Stir until the sweetener is completely dissolved.

8. Bottle for storage and seal tightly. Away from direct sunlight, the shelf life of homemade viburnum tincture is up to 3 years. Fortress – 32-34 degrees. If sediment or turbidity appears, filter through cotton wool.

For medicinal purposes, you can make a concentrated tincture by adding more viburnum berries, but then the drink will have a strong bitter taste and pungent smell. For disease prevention, take a maximum of 50 ml per day.
