Homemade honey cake: classic recipe

Our step-by-step master class will help you learn how to cook one of the most delicious cakes – a fragrant honey cake, a recipe with butter cream.

Homemade honey cake: recipe

We need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp no top soda
  • 3,5 cups flour

For the cream:

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 300 g butter
  • Next: start cooking
  • Mix 2 eggs with a glass of granulated sugar.
  • Dissolve 100 g of butter in a small saucepan over the heat. Add eggs with sugar and 3 tbsp. honey.
  • Put on a water bath
  • Add 2 tsp. soda (no top!). After the water boils, cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add 1,5 cups flour, stir with a fork or mixer, keep in a water bath for another 7-10 minutes
  • Pour 2 cups of flour on the table
  • Pour the honey mass onto a hill of flour. Grate the dough (be careful not to burn your hands). The dough will turn out as tight as plasticine. It is easiest to handle it while the dough is hot. Don’t waste your time!
  • Divide the dough into 5-6 equal parts
  • Roll out the cake from each part, cut out even circles using a large dish, place each on a sheet of foil (do not grease). We bake each cake for 5-7 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
  • We do not throw out the scraps, collect them and roll them into a small cake, which we also bake.
  • From butter and a can of condensed milk, beat the butter cream
  • Put the first cake on a dish, moisten with water, apply a layer of cream, cover with the second cake, and so on.
  • We also coat the last cake with cream (don’t forget about the edges!).
  • Grind the small crust into crumbs and sprinkle the whole cake with this crumb.
  • We put the finished cake in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours so that the cakes are soaked.
