Homemade fig liqueur with vanilla flavor

Fig liqueur on vodka with vanilla is remembered for its delicate aroma, mild taste and beautiful yellow color. Excellent dessert alcohol for coffee, tea, sweet pastries and fresh fruit. The sweetness and strength of the drink can be adjusted to your liking.

Good store-bought vodka, diluted ethyl alcohol, high-purity moonshine or cognac (adds light tannic notes to the taste) are suitable as an alcohol base. The main thing is that the alcohol does not have a nasty smell that interrupts the vanilla aroma.

For pouring, you can use both fresh and dried figs. First, the fruits are carefully examined, removing spoiled, rotten and moldy parts.

Ingredients:

  • vodka (alcohol, moonshine) – 0,5 liters;
  • figs – 150 grams fresh or 100 grams dried;
  • vanilla – 10 grams (1-2 pods);
  • sugar (liquid honey) – 25-150 grams (to taste);
  • water – up to 200 ml (optional to reduce the strength).

Fig liqueur recipe

1. Cut well-washed figs into small slices and put in a container for infusion – a glass bottle or jar.

2. Add vanilla pods divided into pieces 2-3 cm long and 25 grams of sugar.

3. Pour in the alcohol base. Mix. Close the lid tightly.

4. Infuse for 7 days in a dark place at room temperature. Shake once a day.

5. Strain the resulting infusion through several layers of gauze, remove the vanilla pods, then squeeze the fig pulp dry.

6. Taste the drink. Sweeten with additional sugar if desired. If the filling is too strong, dilute with water.

The best option is to cook sugar syrup: mix water and sugar in a saucepan, bring to a boil, boil for 3-5 minutes over low heat, removing foam, then cool to room temperature. In the case of honey, heat the solution no higher than 50 ° C so that useful substances remain.

7. Pour the finished fig liqueur into bottles and seal tightly. Leave for 2-3 days to stabilize the taste.

If turbidity or sediment appears over time, filter through cotton wool.

If stored away from direct sunlight, the shelf life is up to 3 years. Fortress (without water and sugar) – 34-35%.
